Or you could just enchant velums and put them on the AH if your time is so precious, OP.
Tip is optional to begin with. It is a VERY courteous and encouraged option, I will grand you that, but other than that, stop complaining.
And if you think leveling a profession like enchanting is easy and inexpensive, why donât you level it yourself and do your own enchants?
The reality is that production professions take time and gold to get up to higher levels, and you are not entitled to having another person provide a service free of charge.
I tip in silver not gold.
I tipped 500g for a craft on a ring that is now 25g in mats.
then tell us the charge? thats all people in here are saying. A tip is a tip, but if you expect a set amount, then its a fee. Thats literally all people in here are saying.
EXACTLY! People, Stop calling it a Tip. A Tip is extra money paid above and beyond whatever the set cost is, usually for good and prompt service.
I donât know why people insist on calling it a tip.
Felblades is the type of player that will stiff a tips-based enchanter.
âYou didnât state a fee derp derp!â
Honestly, dregs that take advantage of other players should be ridiculed and/or put on ignore.
As an Enchanter, i disagree. Youre just coming off as entitled and âdeservingâ of more than the value of your work. If you want to make money enchanting, sell scrolls on the AH. otherwise, be happy they gave you anything.
In a normal IRL business, profit is already built into the service so a tip is actually extra money paid for good service at the discretion of the purchaser.
If you are bringing mats to an enchanter, there is zero profit at that point. The expectation is that the enchanter should be compensated for providing a service for you.
They say âtipsâ to make the actual amount of the tip up to you but the intention is that you should give some sort of compensation and not stiff the enchanter.
Demanding they state a âfeeâ to deal with dregs who donât have the common decency to compensate an enchanter is ridiculous.
no im the type that tips based on what i decide that day. if its a rare enchant, or if im in a good mood. i tip but its 5g to 20 gold. depending on my mood. if you have a fee. just state the fee.
I am not asking for âmore than the value of my workâ. If they bring mats to me and then donât tip, wouldnât it be fair to say they are giving less than the value of my work?
So, if youâre not in a good mood, you would stiff the enchanter with no tip?
no they will get 5g. because its a tip. i brought the mats, you just clicked a button. get over your self and charge a fee like you want
No, Iâm not demanding anything. I just think calling it a âtipâ is inaccurate, thatâs all. When my mage is doing Enchanting for money, I always say that it is âBy donationâ because I feel that is more accurate. I donât ask for a âfeeâ especially if it involves a skill-up.
5g is excessively cheap. That said, if there are enchanters out there willing to devalue their profession to cater to super cheap players, have at it.
Just state you want 20 gold to start with. You are so hurt that people wont give you 20gold but you wont tell them you want 20 gold. When i sell my titan Cooldown i dont expect market rate. I tell trade chat the exact amount i want for the CD. people will whisper me with offers for less, but its my choice to accept the lower amount or wait till i get my fee.
In most business like a restaurant it is because they want to trick people into thinking the prices are reasonable to get them in the door. Then you have this mandatory âtipâ ontop of it. If they included the tip into the cost of the item then a lot less people would show up.
The word âtipâ implies that its optional. Again, sell enchants on AH. some of the weapon enchants are 100g+ margin. If you want a 20g fee for your enchants, tell people that before hand. Itâs like a woman being mad, me asking whats wrong, and them saying âwell you should knowâ like no, just tell me what you want.
OP needs to learn what a tip actual is. What they want is a fee for their service, not a tip. Tips are whatever that person decides to give you.
That was a personal choice. If youâre ârequiringâ a tip, stop calling it a tip and more of a feeâŠor just become better at customer service. ThanksâŠ
