I am not receiving the gold portion of quest rewards or selling items at vendors, other than a couple of silver. It seems I am stuck 31 thousand gold 30 of which I sent myself from another character.
Is this because I have not upgraded yet or because I resubbed with gold ?
What level is the character and what activities is that character doing?
Level 41 and questing in Draenor
You would only be recieving gold rewards if u were 50 max lvl other wise its exp.
So the items with a gold value attached to them I cannot collect at a vendor ?

The quests still offer significant exp.
You’d only be experiencing a restriction if your account was considered a Starter Edition or otherwise inactive (i.e. did not have game time on it). How you pay for your subscription (WoW Token or other subscription method) isn’t a factor.
Now as the others mentioned, if you aren’t level capped many quests will mostly provide experience and/or item rewards. When it does offer coins it may not be a lot. Though the reward should be visible in the UI when accepting and turning in the quest.
Selling items will provide coin though. I ran a quick log search on the character you recently were logged in on and going back a couple of days. It looks like you logged in with 30,844 gold 48 silver and 38 copper at that point. I can see you gaining some coins from vendoring gray items as well as receiving some from turning in quests. It isn’t a lot, but it is going up.
You logged out recently with 31,564 gold 51 silver 94 copper.
If your display isn’t changing you may want to try resetting your User Interface.
The quest giver said I would receive 16 gold I received less than 1
if you look at the number of quests I have completed this has been going on for a while
For which quest? Do you recall what level you were when you did it?
Also, do you use any addons? There are some quest related addons that might not adjust for level and may display what gold you’d receive if you were level capped.

The Garrison quests are in fact showing 16 gold at level 41. Just sent one of my alts to start her Garrison. She was 40 when she started and dinged 41 after first quest. She is still receiving the full 16 gold.
She is not using Chromie Time but is in War Mode.
The quests outside the Garrison are also still providing 16 gold at level 41.
Stupid me, I have done most of the shadowmoon quest s for less than a gold or two lol
Glad you got it sorted it when u outlvl a zone thats what happens the gold rewards go down.
I’m not exactly certain which quest that is, maybe “Groundbreaking Data” or “Garrison Campaign: Seismic Matters”.
Seismic Matters comes first and is worth a bit under 2 gold at 1 gold 69 silver 80 copper. For that one you had 31545 gold 84 silver 14 copper before turning in the quest and had 31,547 gold 53 silver 94 copper after.
Groundbreaking Data I believe provides 16 gold 98 silver. Prior to you turning that one in you had 31547 gold 53 silver 94 copper and after 31564 gold 51 silver 94 copper.
So everything seems to be working correctly. If you aren’t seeing any change, it might be a UI issue and I recommend that reset I linked earlier.
31547 plus 16.98 should bring it to 47 k gold and change
16 gold 98 silver

It’s what I do.
If you want some tips to get gold, pick up herbing and mining, or mining and skinning. old world materials still sell very well and are always in demand, check you server data for whats best but just sell everything. Vender the junk and toss everything else up on the AH.
