Looking to transfer gold between characters cross faction on a classic era realm. What is the safest way to do that if no one I know plays WoW?
I don’t know that this is the place to make this inquiry?
But please be mindful this is an unsupported transaction. You have no way to guarantee they’re giving you legitimate gold, anymore that the other person can guarantee you’re giving them untainted gold. (not intending to infer that’s the case, just speaking in what-about-isms.) If you’re given illegal gold, your account will be sanctioned even though you’re not the originator of said illegal gold. It’s not against the rules, but it’s an unsupported transaction. You will have no recourse if they steal your gold or give you tainted gold. Just so you’re warned.
lol it’s not anyone. I just want to take gold from my horde toon and send it to my alliance toon. There used to be a way but not supported when Classic first came out but Blizzard changed on that. Now I’m not sure what way I can go?
is the neutral AH still a thing?
I tried that. Can’t buy your own items off the AH.
really? is that a classic thing? because i think i did it once like… 20 years ago
Yea, not sure when blizzard changed that. When Classic came out a few years ago, trading gold with people used to be allowed but not supported until Blizzard recently changed there stance on that due to all the gold sellers.
No it was like that in vanilla.
This is correct. Buying one’s own auctions has never been allowed.
There isn’t a safe way to do it which is why thats banned behavior. A high percentage of gold transfers are driven by the RMT cartel, so your chance of getting actioned is extremely high since its almost certain the gold you would get would be flagged.
