Attempting to put the goblin glider on the legendary cloak says this item is not a valid target please fix

This was on the PTR and is generally considered to be not a bug.
The Glider is an on-use effect, and the Cape’s effect is on-use. You can’t have two on-use effects on one item as it creates a conflict.

Thats really lame then while yes goblin kits are buyable this was a engineer thing and i dont wanna feel screwed over because of that

can’t use flexweave underlay either.
worst legendary ever, i’ve had a parachute on every cloak i’ve had since i leveled engineering in wrath, not having it feels like crap.

Yeah i have alot of toons and to buy/make gliders constantly is going to feel REALLY awful they did not think this through

On ptr i was able to use it early on. but now people are telling me it was changed and intended… so idk its really sad tho
Yeah, by reading the wowhead article someones posting, seems like its intended.
If the cloak has an on-use effect, it is understandable, but it is only understandable if Blizzard gave Engineers other ways to use a non-consumable goblin glider.
Engineers already have very few perks.
I was initial disappointed by the Tools of the Trade we got, but I let it pass.
But this?!
This needs to be fixed. Someone suggested to make an engineer-only toy which I think is a great idea.
But I hope it doesn’t take a month or more to implement…

Though I still think it should be usable on the cloak (I know, breaks on-use tradition), may as well just make it a retractable propeller for our helm slot as we are goggle gurus.
Would rather trade the cloak on use for glider

Engineering has been such a letdown this expansion. I guess I’ll have to just use the kits from now until the next expansion, which is a huge pain.
Why couldn’t they make the cloak instead make you learn a new ability upon equipping it? Then it can be considered a spell, which would also make more sense. It should not function like a trinket anyways… it’s a cloak…

Feeling pretty bummed about this. This is one of the most iconic parts of being an Engineer. I use my cloak multiple times a day, but now I can’t, unless I sink money/time into farming the consumables.
The glider should be either moved to another slot(belt/shirt/chest armor) as an enchant, or a toy created for Engineers only(like the Loot-a-rang).
