I miss my olde deep wounds warrior. I mean I still play arms warrior (I WILL NEVER CONFORM TO YOUR FURY FACEROLL REEEEE) and they do still have deepwounds, but its noticeably harder to get top damage output. Also some of the abilities compared to fury is just confusing. Like why does fury get free whirlwind and execute whereas arms needs a lot of rage to cast those abilities. I see why people choose fury over arms but I am an arms warrior at heart.
Maybe we need to get some BW class design devs to transfer over to WoW. Theyâre use to working with very little, so let them look at MoP talent trees and let them figure out how to build talent/utility trees like they have there
I bet someone could legit play DH at a high level with just a mouse wheel macro
I absolutely loathe how if it feels like they couldnt come up with new abilties so they just took away stuff and made them into talents. A horrible idea, whoever came up with this is a bad person.
And losing access to spells so they could make them into honor talents feels exactly the same- they couldnt think of anything.
As far as niche âsub specsâ, they should just move them into their own class. Like gladiator stance for warriors, make it a fourth spec. Or make it a whole new class. That could be cool too. Like, a hero spec for each class.
I really did like the WOTLK and MOP class designs. You know what really sucks. When the company tries to redo specializations with the new expansion when the specialization was perfect in expansion prior. They like to try to reinvent the wheel every year and it ends up biting them in the behind.
whats odd is that ppl have been playing a version of WOD since 2014 and people eat it up with a spoon and say " new content! its fun and great! " ⊠legion was noting more but a few tweaks from WOD with demons sprinkled in and same with BFA ⊠we have not seen any real changes or great content since TBC / wotlk / cata / WOD ⊠from WOD to legion to BFA is the same ol song and dance , milking the cow
ppl get excited about new races when all they really are is new skins / diff color ⊠Acti-Blizz has become hella lazy at being creative
cant wait till or if Camelot Unchained comes out and or Pantheon ⊠just here waiting for playing time to run out ⊠they got me with the mount / subb bundle ⊠never again will they see a dime unless they REALLY make some changes âŠguess well have to see come next xpan in 2-3yrs lol
Sorry, but this is just nonsense.
Very much agreed. BFA is the most clearly rushed product we have ever seen from WoW. Its right up there with Diablo 3.
Iâm not convinced it will actually see a release, much less be a quality product. I havenât followed CU news for a while, but everything I have seen has been veryâŠunderwhelming.
Heard some people talking it up, havenât followed it yet. Definitely gonna start following developing games closer. Ashes of Creation is interesting, waiting for release and actual reviews on it first tho. Trying out FFXIV right now, so far so good.
go back and lvl / play some WOD âŠthen Legion then BFA imo all 3 are mirror images of each other with minor tweaks like azerite gear
With the rampant purning after WoD? Nah, game is much more boring to play now. BFA is an open world MOBA.
The most damning case against modern class design yet.
I donât necessarily agree with every bullet point, but the overall message is spot on.
Class design is the catalyst for player enjoyment in WoW, and it sucks. Either go back to what we had before, or go back to the drawing board, but by no means stick with the current trajectory.
Where they really screwed up with this one was by pruning over 80% of the utility skills and spreading them around other specs and also into PVP talents. My Hunter lost over half a dozen skills that she used on a regular basis in PVP because of how oversimplified theyâre trying to make it.
Yes, this so much. Old mage class design was to be the ultimate box of magical tools. They were as to magic as as warriors were to melee. You might specialize as fire or frost, but that didnât make you suddenly forget how to cast every arcane spell, even with said spells werenât optimal for your spec.
It made for a high skill cap and meant that well played mages really stood out from the masses of badly-to-average played mages (not that I was ever a master), especially in PvP where top players could pull off some insane stuff. It also made the class good for just about any situation you could imagine, from raids to dungeons to battlegrounds to questing to kiting around dangerous world elites.
Now, thatâs all gone and the only thing separating good players from bad players is if youâre following the meta or not. No more skillful use of situational abilities, no more falling back on a secondary school when your main school isnât up to the task, no more crazy hijinks. Just a simplistic, twitchy playstyle that depends more on your ability to perfectly perform rote rotations and bot-like reaction speeds than any kind of skill.
Youâre not alone, my warrior is #arms4life. Screw fury and its goofy ironing board dual wielding.
This makes me sad because I had so much fun as dual wield fury back in the day =(
Just to be clear, Iâm cool with original style/SMF fury, but Titanâs Grip drives me nuts. It looks and feels like clown-mode melee.
Yep. Loved dual wield fury in vanilla for PvP. Honestly felt faster and more fun than arms. Iâve never liked the look of titans grip and continually struggled to find an xmog weapon I like while fury spec.
I agree, OP, pruning has been a disaster. They should be adding abilities (at least keeping the ones from Legion so our class doesn't feel like crap), not removing them. They made a decision, that was convenient for them, i.e. fewer abilities means less time spent on development of them. But the cost, was they killed the entire feel of the game.
It's like flying, they wanted to get rid of it because it was easier for them. They didn't give two craps about how it affected us. A developer friend once told me that no developer, ever thinks what they made, was a mistake, despite glaring evidence to the contrary. Unfortunately, they seem to be in this mindset, completely unable to accept the fact that this pruning experiment, has finally blown up, in their face.
Finally, Preach, the influencer, made a very salient point, that they should consider adding abilities back. He said they worry, that, what happens in 3 or 4 expansions when we're drowning in abilities? but what they don't realize is, if they keep pruning, and/or don't give us that stuff back, there won't be more expansions. The game will die. They will be out of a job. No one here wants that. I hope they read this, and many other forum posts, and listen. If they don't, we might all end up paying the price.
Man⊠Iâve been trying to push this since I first logged into Alpha for Legion. I farted around with some of the classes on there and I was extremely disappointed especially with Hunter. Wow⊠Hunters⊠I remember going through each of the specs with my jaw to the floor not in excitement but quite the opposite.
I was very upset and extremely disappointed and I jumped right onto the forums and instantly began trying to give feedback that class design was heading in a horrible direction and that it needed to stop. Every day since Iâve been trying to push for the fact that class design has been getting worse and itâs REALLY hurting the game.
Iâm so sick of class design, even with the things wrong with BfA I wouldnât mind if class design was fun like it was back in 5.4.8. I was addicted to the game back then mostly because of the class design. Nowadays I struggle to find any reason to log into WoW and when I do itâs because I WANT to find reasons to enjoy the game but each time I do log in I log out very shortly afterward.
Blizzard really needs to start understand that theyâve been destroying the fun with class design since WoD and having class design back to what it was back in MoP this game would legitimately feel way better to play. But they donât understand. They think itâs okay and it completely boggles my mind.
So many people have given feedback numerous times and a lot of those people have unsubbed including me. Class design is the heart and soul of this game. If itâs not fun then the rest of the game wonât be very exciting because of it.
Itâs so sad watching a Mythic raider playing a BM hunter and watching them go through their rotation. Itâs so ridiculously dull and you can just tell it doesnât take that much to be good at playing any class or spec in the game nowadays. Itâs heartbreaking.
Bad class design takes away from the immersion in the game in such a way that if you just arenât having fun with your class you just have less fun overall in the game. Itâs real. I feel it every single time I play the game. I have a fraction of the fun I used to have with the toons that Iâve made over the years and Iâm extremely fed up because Iâve loved WoW for so many years.
I donât want to just give up because the game is in a bad state. It used to be better. Thereâs always a chance it can be better again. The devs just have to decide for it to be better but right now theyâre doing an absolutely horrible job.
With news leaking that ActiBlizz will be laying off hundreds of employees, its more likely there will be fewer devs and CS reps working on WoW to help those changes even happen. Regardless, those are expansion level changes that would happen at best in 9.0 pre patch.
The ship for BFA has sailed with current class design.
