I used to disagree with the entire concept of tinkers too, deep down I still do a little, but overall Liianas done a pretty good job across multiple different posts to convince me that Tinkers maybe do make sense in wow after all.
Not that I would play one, I donāt really see the appeal of a class like that, but yeah, I do agree with her now, Tinkers do make sense.
I definitely appreciate Liianasā continued effort to keep Tinker as an active discussion. Iāve been dreaming about a Tinker themed class for over 16 years. Itās such a fun and whimsical class that really embodies the spirit of Goblins and Gnomes.
I honestly donāt even know why people even mention bard as a class in WoW because there are 0 bards in WoW. It simply isnāt a class in this world. Tinker is actually in the game and can be all 3 different specs.
If they add Bard, I hope itās as a profession. It could easily be used for boosting rested XP when players are resting, boosting food bonuses or even for social related things. But yeah, as a class, ehh.
I may as well voice my opinion on the Bard Dilemma.
I actually do think Bards should exist to some capacity, but they should fit within the Style of the WarCraft universe.
Music is a Big Part of WarCraft. But it isnāt inherently magical or special.
Bards should exist as a secondary profession like fishing, it should be there to add fun interaction to the universe in a down to earth way.
Music simply isnāt a magical force in WarCraft. Arcane Magic is very thoroughly explained as leftover Titan energy within Azeroth.
But that doesnāt mean Music canāt just be music. There could easily be a profession that allows you to preform for your groups and guilds.
It doesnāt need any gameplay effects, it doesnāt need to be a whole class.
It just needs to be a profession that lets you play various instruments.
What? No, There wasnāt a āMiningā Hero unit in WC3
A Tinker class for gnomes / goblins is like a Druid for Night Elves or a Paladin for humans.
In WC3 Humans had Paladins. So in WoW you can make a Human Paladin.
In WC3 Night Elves had Druids, so you can make a Night Elf Druid.
In WC3 Goblins had Tinkersā¦ and yetā¦ No Tinker Class.
Frotty, you play a Druid, so you have abilities taken Directly from WarCraft 3:
Tranquility, Entangling Roots, Starfall, Rejuvination, Savage Roar, Faerie Fire, The list goes on and on.
So Where is my class that uses Cluster Rockets, Pocket Factories, and Mech Suits?
Donāt forget Island Expeditions, the Gnome Squad Razakās Roughriders, they definitely had skills unique to a āTinker Classā of some sort, turrets, gadgets, even riding a mechanostrider with skills which could be part of a Tinker Class Kit.
Like I said I think many classes can be brought into the game even if they have overlapping skills with other classes or professions, just takes a little creative intuitive thought and they can be a class on their own.
Your biggest competition really is just Blizzardā¦ they rather use resources and double down on horrible systems rather then actually listening to the community .
Iāve read many class discussions in many forums about Tinker, Dark Rangers and even Necromancer, each distinctively unique and amazing, the work from blizzard is really already done for themā¦
