GM Appreciation Thread

I just wanted to make a shout out to the great customer support / GMs out there who’ve supported me, along with so many others

The last time I had a problem that required me to talk to a Game-Master was Dragonflight, however like always – They were polite, professional and gave me a crazy sense of ASMR :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I know we’ve faced quite a lot of bugs the pass few expansions, but Blizzard GMs have been super-soldiers blazing through them to conquer our problems one by one when we required direct aid for our characters.

 So without further ado … Here’s to all you glorious Game-Masters out there  :beers:

Lucky you. Can’t say I relate, I lost count of how many times I was told to come here since launch because the left hand isn’t allowed to speak to the right one.

I’ve only had an odd occasion here & there where that’s happened, but majority of the time it’s been a good experience.

Especially love the ones that give a little bit of complimentary banter  Always makes me feel more at ease & open to talk about the situation better.

:person_shrugging: I don’t think coming to the customer support page or Blizzard-self help resources is necessarily a bad thing, as it’s there to help & assist with those problems — However naturally you’re going to have particular problems that fall outside the typical situation of whatever criteria of issue you’re suffering or something that’s particularly strange which will require a more direct approach of assistance or advice.

  Anyway, I wanted to express my gratitude to my experiences thus far and give the appreciation to their hard work, demeanor and achievements — Not just towards myself, but to others & the game entire as well.

While I am sure that they appreciate the…ahem, appreciation and all, I don’t believe this is the right spot for it. This would probly be a GD sort of thread.

Fair point.
The thread has since been moved.

I do miss the days when GMs posted regularly on forums. :frowning:

They still seem to post fairly regular on the Customer Support forums

  • However for general discussion, ideas & lore – It would be nice to get some more notability

Although, I would also say that having GMs assist on the Customer Support forums proves to be the most helpful to the overall playerbase too

I’m not saying I don’t believe but I couldn’t find the thread, can you link your source?

I used to love having a human respond to my tickets! Blizz CS was the best on the planet :blue_heart:

"Salutations Dracarian! GameMaster (insert cool fantasy name) here and ready to lend a hand! I am sorry to hear you somehow lost this two-handed sword from your bag. It is entirely possible there are loot goblins afoot in Stormwind, so best to be on high alert! The good news is, they did not get far and we found your sword in a pawn shop just 3 blocks away in Old Town. We’ve spoken to the shop keeper and for a small reward, they have agreed to return your weapon through the mail.

Be on the lookout, these sorts of dangers happen, so it’s best to be vigilant! Oh, and before I go, I wanted to share a joke with you… How does Naxx fly in the air? It has 4 wings! Happy hunting adventurer and see you around Azeroth!

Your Fellow Adventurer,
GM Coolname

Now we get Skippy the infotech pressing canned response buttons.

:person_shrugging: I mean you’re going to get various personalities & worth-ethics in all jobs.

  • My last direct service was Dragonflight of which I received a great quality responses, Hence the purpose for this thread

So I’d say the tombstone meme is insincere to the majority, oooor:smirk: Blizzard Customer Service are now naturally made up of the Forsaken :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I forget how much you shrug. But then again, like every post on this forum, simply an opinion where mileage may vary.

I’ll wait till I see actual GM’s in-game before I go around thanking anybody.

i have a hard time believing this is genuine for some reason hehe

The shrug is meant to be a body-language gesture to indicate things are up for debate or a notion of “Well …” (But in a few cases yes, an actual genuine shrug lol)

I mean in this particular case of thread, I feel it comes less to ‘opinion’ and more-so down to ‘Personal Experience’ that each person has had.

I haven’t had quality customer service from blizzard in 15-years… I’ve been told so many times, “we can’t help you, go to the forum and find players to help you.” on obvious blizzard issues.

Wait, they still have GM’s?

All i have encountered in recent years is a never-ending loop of self help articles that seem to be designed to make you fix your own issue, or give up in frustration lol

I think I only had that once and shortly after they even had linked me the thread I needed to go to, which gave a detailed-step-by-step plan on how to resolve the issue — and a few weeks later said-problem was hot-fixed.

Just about all the other times was either a fix applied when I was offline or a ASMR messaging service that made me feel all warm & fuzzy whilst managing to fix what was needed :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hah! You’re funny. You got something on your nose. Blizz puts the smallest amount of effort into this game at this point. They better go hard with the next expansion or a lot of people are done. For really real.

Or hell…make a new game…

I’m sorry but I find this all very hard to believe… I’ve experienced their once great customer service… but they’ve been putrid for so long and by so many people’s accounts. I just can’t seem to wrap my head around what you are saying positively about them.

Oh, like these folks…

But if we are not echoing this

Then we should just head out?
