Glowing eyes in the "Wisdom of the "Warchief" đź‘€

There seems to be secret hint in this questline (it’s not about Sylvanas shooting down Vol’jin this time!). I found this from here. Apparently, there is a pair of glowing eyes present throughout the questline. I’m going to post first few pictures and link the rest.

The color of the eye glow and Vol’jin’s glow are similar, could it be the one who brought Vol’jin back? It’s interesting.

The color is also similar to Sargeras, Bolvar and Odyn…

We know that at least two entities are at play in Vol’jin’s story here. One that dragged him away (and presumably had him choose Sylvanas as his replacement) and a second that dragged him out (when he was “touched by Valor”). Its hard to tell which entities eyes are represented there (though considering the association with reclaimed memories, I’d guess the latter).

Rezan or Odyn maybe?

Gold? That… isn’t the colour I’d associate with a herald of Undeath…

Eyir denies Odyn being involved. But he’s the only person associated with gold that I can think of.

Or maybe “The Light has struck a bargain with the enemy of all.” line refers to more than just Calia.

Then again the forsaken have yellow eyes most of the time, don’t they? So maybe it is something undeath related. Or Bolvar could be lying, for some reason.

I think what matters more than their source is how ominous they look.

Clearly it’s a Light Lord.

Looks almost as if they reused Amon’s portrait from Starcraft II’s Wings of Liberty Campaign…

You’ve already put more thought into it than the writers have. You and that other guy who tried to equate Vol’jin being stabbed with the Kennedy assassination where Sylvanas was the second shooter.

Rezan has golden eyes (both while alive, and in his mindless undead form), and he’s been MIA for a while. The strange spacing and shape of those eyes could also fit him too.

EDIT: As a side note, its also not unusual for Loa to be able to traverse into the Shadowlands (or even manipulate them). My favorite example of this is when Quetz’lun (out of pure spite) created her own little death demiplane to trap the souls of the worshipers that betrayed her in eternal torment. That cranky snake lady was fun.

Eyir also says that Vol’jin’s spirit is touched by “Hand of Valor”, so that line could be referring to this. But just “Light” is vague, a Naaru? Also what would be the bargain? I kinda think it’s minor hints for next expansion

I’m all for Odyn being the being the one behind this, but he lost an eye remember.

Sargeras is possible, him manipulating things from a distance is something that he has known in doing in the pasted.

Eyir is a possibility too, imagine the implications of her being the one that helps made Sylvanas Warchief.

Argus had blue eyes, yet he also had red eyes, and so it would be iffy for him chromatic color changes.

Now remembering something, didn’t Gul’dan reference some “she” during his speech at the climax of the Battle for Broken Shore. Maybe those eye’s are hers?

Re-reading the broadcast text on the quest where they talk to Eyir she doesn’t directly deny being the one to influence Vol’jin to name Sylvanas warchief because she is never directly asked. Vol’jin states he was sent over then brought back and asks her if it was her doing to which she replies that he is no longer a mere spirit and as such is beyond her power to do.

Vol’jin then asks if that power (not Eyir) influenced him in naming Sylvanas to which Eyir denys.

Of course Vol’jin dying/naming Sylvanas warchief occurs before Sylvanas’ deal with Helya and assault on Eyir.

After directly asking both Bwonsamdi and Bolvar about getting Sylvanas appointed warchief, to then turn and flub the questioning of Eyir…

Plot twist: The Light has struck a bargain with Sylvanas.

Lol, that would make the Male Human Pally poster population on this server to suffer a collective heart attack (caused by despair btw)…

I profoundly despise any involvement implying Naaru, Titans or Odin. If someone “bought back” Vol´jin, let it be Xibala or Rezan himself ffs…

I say Azeroth herself and i always will. We trolls(and elves) are her children after all.

Which would make the Light WoW’s version of Amon which would mean that Sylvanas is WoW’s version of Mensk and the Lich Kings are WoW’s version of the Confederates.

If this is the case then who is Kerrigan? Nathanos maybe? Is Sylvanas truly loyal to him or did she save him from the Scourge for the same reasons that Mensk saved Kerrigan from the Confederacy?

Mensk of course had a grudge against Kerrigan which is why he abandoned her once she outlived her usefulness. Does Sylvanas have any such grudge against Nathanos and the Human Forsaken? Possibly:

Sylvanas in her thoughts wanted revenge not just against Arthas but on all Humans that birthed her. How are we to know that Nathanos and the Human Forsaken are excluded? She could see them all as a shield for herself and the Undead Elves to dispose of once she is assured of victory!

I did notice those on my play through of the quest as well. I have a couple guess at who might have saved him though it’s pretty much all speculation.

As others have guessed, I think Rezan makes a good canidate. He’s shown (with Rastakhan) that he can keep spirits from Bwonsamdi. Vol’jin was a mighty and well respected troll leader so it’s not that much of a strech for Rezan to have taken an interest. The fact that he’s “dead” now could help explain why it’s tough to find answers.

Sen’jin would be a cool choice but considering Eyir saying she didn’t have enough power to do it even if she wanted, I can’t see Sen’jin being more powerful than her.

Despite the golden glow the eyes could also belong to the evil power at play as each time they appear so do the shades that try and “protect” you from the truth.

I would LOVE for the evil power to be Hakkar the Soulflayer however i feel that’s unlikely.

I’m fairly certian it will be a completely new enemy to us and there’s a good chance that the entity that saved him will be as well.

Would Nathanos being Kerrigan’d cause more or less hatred then Sylvanas getting that?

I wouldn’t know. Nathanos showed horror at Sylvanas’s actions so him getting Kerrigan’d would be less controversial than Sylvanas who showed no remorse at all.

People don’t really care about him that much other than that he is Sylvanas fanboi # 1. However he really hasn’t done enough of his on volition to really justify him getting “kerrigan’d”.
