Look, the player base is dwindling and it’s harder and harder to find ppl to play with on lfg. Why not just bite the bullet blizzard and make gladiator a participation reward, but like heavy participation, 1000+ games. That way participation can finally increase and people won’t just sit on ratings and never play.
While they’re at it, why not make solo give the participation award for glad as well.
Or keep Gladiator and the mount in the same place, and add other rewards. Not sure why you have to give Glad to everyone when there are so many rewards they could do.

Pretty sure Blizzard overcompensated inflation for season inactivity.
I remember it took like 100 rounds of shuffle in the first weeks of the season for me to get north of 1800 on two characters.
And then I Qd 3s with my brother and a friend two days and we were winning games at 2k mmr.
Our team consisted of:
Me. Devoker. Casual player. No 3v3 experience.
My brother. Keyboard turning Ret Paladin who doesn’t know what Santuary or Sac are.
A drunk Priest whose highest achievement is like 2k in Wrath.

It’s odd that the only proposition to increase participation is “moar rewards!”
We have been trying this for the past few years and I’m not sure it has ever worked.
