I bought a wow token on my account because I thought I could claim the time for another account on the same battle.net client. It turns out I couldn’t claim the time and the tokens are soulbound so I can’t transfer it to a character on that account.
I submitted a ticket and was told to claim the token and buy the game time on the second account with the bnet balance but you’re unable to buy game time with bnet balance. See the ticket response below.
Any solutions or can I get help that isn’t incorrect?
Greetings!
Thank you for contacting Blizzard Customer Support, I’m Game Master ------, but you can call me —!
First of all, allow me to start by apologizing for the late reply as we’ve been having high volume of tickets recently.
I can imagine how it feels to not be able to play the game that you have just bought, no worries though, we will make sure to assist you to the best of our abilities.
After further investigation, if you wish to have Game Time on your WoW10 account, you will need to either
-
Redeem WoW Tokens on your WoW1 account as Battle.net balance and use the balance to purchase Game Time on your WoW10 account
-
Purchase a WoW Subscription on your WoW10 account.
I really hope that this clarifies things for you, have a wonderful day adventurer! (っᵔ◡ᵔ)っ

Yes you can.
You can not use battle.net balance as a subscription payment method, but you can by blocks of game time from the shop.

In Retail:
You need to buy a token for gold from the AH. Not from the shop.
It should work if the other license is out of game time, that is as far as I know the only way to use a game time token on a different license.
If you’ve run out of Game Time but you have a Token in a character’s inventory, you’ll be able to use the WoW Token from the character select screen and add Game Time to any WoW game account on your Battle.net Account.
You can not buy a wow token from the auction house on one character and physically move it to another.

What type of WoW Token did you purchase?
Only ones bought from the in-game Auction House can be used to either give game time OR Battle Net Balance (if permitted in your country of residence).
Tokens purchased from the Blizzard Shop can ONLY be sold on the Auction House for gold.

Where do you find this option? I only see the subscription option.
I bought it on the auction house but when I went to use it, the token said it would be applied to the account that the character I bought the token on was on and didn’t have an option to swap it to another account under the same Bnet account.
That is intended behavior when attempting to use the Token from within the game.
What happens when you go to the unsubbed license and start it up and look at it on the character screen? Do you see any option there to use the Token?

Got it, it was under the “more” section of the shop. Unfortunate that it is only sold in 60 days of game time.
Thanks for the help.

If the license has no game time, use it from the character screen on the license that you want to apply the token to. You won’t even log in.
