give us the waggy bits or I will pee on all your tires blizzard
Give Worgen tails.
Back to support optional tails for worgen again. I will no longer have a membership in October because i can’t afford it atm. I hope you guys keep this thread alive and i might post again sometime, until my membership runs out.
The unions would have happened before the wall (and likely would have in order for the player character to be of age) and this is not out of the realm of possibility at all as High Elves were not barred from Gilneas prior to the wall.
Dunno what druids or harvest witches have to do with half elves.
Even if you don’t like the ears, it can easily be attributed to just more of the Worgen side creeping into your human form, pointing your ears, not that you’re a half elf. Plus, not all Worgen are from Gilneas (or human) in the first place, Worgen can spread their curse to human and elf alike. Tails are just unnecessary, there was a reason tails weren’t added: it didn’t fit with their vision of Worgen, it adds to their identity of being unnatural and warped from their original druidic form, which DID have tails. It is a deliberate decision not some oopsie poopsie we forgot to add it, maybe if people ask enough we’ll remember.
No it didn’t the concept art had tails in every concept piece. The truth was Blizzard always has been and always will be lazy as sin and put the minimum effort into anything they don’t like. Back in Cataclysm Blizzard didn’t like the Alliance so they procrastinated till they ran out of time as all the work and effort were put into making zones for goblins. Then Blizzard put out the abomination and used it as an excuse as to why they didn’t put effort into the race claiming no one wanted to play it and yes no one liked the abomination. Please get your facts straight if you’re going to come in here and tell us "facts’.
A conceptual idea didn’t make the final cut!? That never happens! ![]()
Y’know Worgen were without tails before Cataclysm, right…?
I doubt they said this but wouldn’t be surprised, definitely do know it had nothing to do with tails though. Surely this “fact” has a source?
Arguing against customization options on the basis of necessity in a video game is asinine.
It’s not a matter of them being necessary, it’s a matter of the option being availed people who would enjoy it in this piece of entertainment.
And considering it neither goes against any established lore nor detracts from their being “unnatural and warped from their original druidic form” (because they’re still Worgen) there’s no problem with it as an option.
I think it’s more likely they just didn’t want to go through the effort to finish them considering they left the bones there.
And laziness would track considering the recycled and low effort content we’ve seen: island expeditions, war fronts, a patch assembled from cut content from BfA, remixes that are essentially just bootleg classic phases with inflated ilvl and a bunch of recolors and cut content, in fact they were so lazy and inconsistent that they ended up including an elite set in MoP Remix for people to purchase with no special requirements whatsoever if memory serves. And on top of all that, well, being lazy just saves money.
It makes the most sense to me.
The original worgen also had no tails, so not sure what excuse you want to go with there. Lazy again? Okay…
Plus, if it’s such a simple change, why didn’t they add it then? But also if they’re so lazy, why would they add it now?
The established lore is that they do not have tails, to the point it’s joked about in-game. The established lore didn’t say humans can’t have tails, guess we should all rally the troops for “Give Humans Tails” posts. Oh, oh! There’s no lore saying Gnomes can’t have 4 fingers, we should give them 4 fingers! What’s truly criminal is that there is Worgen tail advocacy, but not Male Pandaren tail advocacy, as their female counterparts do have tails, yknow, unlike every worgen in-game. That’s true injustice.
I’d imagine 1-5% of the playerbase actually has a worgen let alone cares this much about the tails, you’re a vocal minority. This isn’t something like eye colors or skin colors or fur colors, it’s a whole new appendage.
The bones were there, they didn’t finish the work necessary to flesh them out, and they never bothered to remove them despite the aforementioned.
That’s pretty lazy, yes.
The first is just answered again by them being lazy.
The second is because it’s been requested a fair bit, and for something as narratively and monetarily inconsequential as this it wouldn’t just be lazy to let it slide but stupid. It’s free good will, and the only people that rail against it really just have a bone to pick with some unrelated fandom.
Tweets and referential jokes aren’t lore.
Your reductio ad absurdam is noted and, rightly, chuckled at.
And considering we’re talking about a druidic transformation it’s eminently reasonable.
“Oh, but it’s a corruption of a druidic transformation!” Ah, but then all the more reason to avoid uniformity in its appearance; the better to make it seem a corruption, something unnatural, inconsistent. The optional tail would to that effect add.
It could be both.
There’s pretty much no argument, however, that would make leaving them there anything other than lazy.
Funny you should mention Void Elves when they ended up giving them all those High Elf customization options.
I’d have replied to more but you deleted your post, so good night I guess.
Prove it show us in the games lore where it says Worgen can’t have tails. Go on I’ll wait for your “proof”. Just because Dracthyr have a joke about it means nothing Blizzard has changed many jokes into real opinions including things they said wouldn’t happen such as high elf skin opinions. So now I await your so called proof.
I think only thing their using as proof is that the original model had no tail, I did a bit of searching around and there isn’t any actual written story reason coming up at all. The only mention of any thing lore is a thing claiming some one mistakenly put a tail on Gen in a book and then claimed it was a mistake and that lore said that he shouldn’t have it, Though that is the only thing claiming lore said they don’t have them and nothing else.
You see the thing is your right. There is no in-game lore about Worgen not having a tail. The reason Worgen don’t have a tail is Blizzard ran out of development time with Worgen and a ton of stuff got scrapped. Where did the 22+ hair styles we were shown go? Oh wait we come back to Blizzard and being lazy. Its far more simple to make a mane and slap some small bits and bobs on the front rather than focus on a full line of hairs. The model has always had tail bones in the model the amount of effort is already there for tails they just need to be attached but at the same time Blizzard out of spite for 10 years on the abomination refuses to give any time or effort to anything Worgen. Heck it was far more simple for Blizzard to make it so our own heritage quest looked down on being a Worgen. Our current racial leader isn’t even a Worgen even though she has a Worgen model. The Horde have a flight path to Gilneas but the Alliance don’t. I mean need I go on?
I’d agree with the lazy part. Or rather upper management is unlikely to allocate the resources as it would require someone to model, texture, and animate.
At best you could hope for someone to work on it in their free time and then the art director might approve the addition.
I feel the same, it’s really annoying that non-human races always get less attention to detail. You can tell Blizzard is just lazy and puts way less effort into anything that doesn’t look human.
This is not true and Worgen are more popular than they think and deserve more attention than humans!
the better version
Do I have news for you. And don’t give me none of that tHuMb Is NoT a FiNgEr nonsense
Oh you had to go and tell em battle I was going to have fun with that.

It’s ok I still got Worgen paw prints vs Dracthyr prints.
Want to continue giving my support to Worgen’s getting optional tails.
