Because, at least in my case which I am speaking to Fenelon about, the person who made the Ankoan Megathread argued against Naga being added. Why Rorrand tried to argue against Naga in his thread, I do not know for sure.
However, as I have explained, due to time and resource constraints, this sorta thing becomes a bit of a zero sum game. The more things we put on the dev’s list to work on, (particularly when it comes to animators where Naga are concerned), the longer it will take for them to get to one particular thing on the list, even to the point that it becomes questionable if they’ll even bother working on it at all. So that might be the reason.
In the case of worgen tails, it’s been made clear to me it would take so little time and effort that it won’t really get in the way of the animators working on anything else, so that’s not a concern for me anymore. Give Worgen tails. Sure. Whatever.
Ankoan/Jinyu in particular would make Naga less likely if they as they’d fill the same conceptual niche as Naga do. An aquatic race. That means Naga would become less interesting to add for certain people. In addition, that means Naga and Ankoan would be competing with each other for racials. This of course would not be a problem if they are both added to opposite factions. But that in and of itself limits the ease of adding one or the other to the game somewhat, since they then have to commit to adding one to the opposite faction from the other.
More options is great until a new option being asked for means an option already being asked for gets put further onto the backburner simply due to it being harder to implement than the new things being added. Unless the new thing being asked for is truly easy and quick to implement and doesn’t hurt anything else, the harder things that people have been waiting for longer should be prioritized.
If Blizz were willing to actually make both happen together in a timely fashion without it hurting either race’s racials or anything like that? Absolutely. In that sense, more is absolutely better.
My suggestion is take that route then. Even if they continue to come after your thread just stick to your guns and ask for what you want to see. Its how we have been doing it in this thread for ages and while we have some people come in and attack us we laugh then continue on with our requests. It makes things much easier.
The only naga reference I found in that threads Main Post was talking about differences that would make Ankoan more easily done rather than any sort of pooping on like the other naga thread does to Sethrak and Saurok.
Thats not the sort of thing I’m against people doing when its pertinent to the thread. Between Naga and Jinyu and Ankoan (And sometimes other water based races like the Kelfin) there is a common argument on why do this fish race vs. that one.
The old Naga thread throws it in for no point or purpose with no context on why.
Though I will say I didn’t remember reading the Ankoan threads counter arguments before so its possible it was added later after its making and I missed it. I definitely am less enthused that they included that section though.
Either way its the intent that matters. While I don’t support the other thread for that reason these days I think its important to remind you that I did support it in the past, just on my former main Fezzy, and my support or not should not control your own if thats what you want to do.
Also I do not see how the inclusion of Ankoan/Jinyu or any other fish race would counteract the addition possibilities of Naga myself.
That all said I think you’d still be a better mouthpiece at this time for the Naga race as a whole than the old thread which likely will never be updated.
Yeah…getting back on topic give worgen optional tails pls Blizz. I wonder if people run worgen characters through mists remix if they’d give us more attention. I was honestly thinking to run a worgen mage through remix but we’ll see what happens as I’ll be out of town for a few days starting the day before remix so… hey good thing is sticks around a while. Here’s to hoping though that…they don’t keep ignoring us like they are and at the very least give us the option for a tail on our worgen. Dozens more ideas we could ask for but I’ll settle for the time being just getting the option of a tail. Super simple for them to add that it makes you wonder why have they not done it yet after all this time? Maybe after we cross the 16k mark we’ll get…idk…something… hopefully a positive something but kinda hoping for an optional tail for my worgen to happily wag in celebration
I fully support the option for Worgen to have tails. This would be an easy win for Blizzard. This has been one of the most asked for Worgen Features since they were released.
Second most asked for the most asked was to remove the Abomination… It took 10 years but we finally got that change. We will continue this request till the game dies.
Not only have they not done so yet but they turned our request for them into a joke the lady Dracthyr tell and one of their people back around I think warlords prodded at us with a lie about needing to tear tails off wild beasts to get our optional tail. Far as I can see they owe our worgen the option of a tail, no cracking jokes at our expense, no lies or taunts, oh no… they need to stop beating our worgen with the rolled up newspaper and show the doggos some much needed love rather than spoil the BE or VE like they have been.
On…another note I’ve found the forum no longer lets me link things… is this something the mass report discord may of caused as I used to be able to link things to provide proof but it slaps my hand now. Just…kinda curious…but…anyways… #GiveWorgenOptionalTails
Foxy did you take a break from posting? I’m in the same boat I got demoted the member instead of regular so I can’t post images atm. The trust level system for these forms is kind of stupid. Unless you get a big ban you shouldn’t have to post non stop to keep the ability to link stuff in posts.
