Give Worgen Tails (Part 1)

What word would you use then? Gross? If so you clearly don’t know anything about furries in general.

There is alot of hate for Furrys too but most people are just afraid of getting to know someone and seeing what kind of person they are when they say they are a furry.

Sad to say…a lot of people don’t. That’s why they’re using them as a slur or an insult or some really dumb reason for why werewolves shouldn’t get the option of a tail. Could be because a lot of them…don’t know a furry personally to know they’re not some fetish or the like but they’re actually pretty great people. There are some… rotten ones among the bunch who stir up the stereotypes but… those people don’t represent the whole. I’ve got friends among the fandom and they’re honestly some of the kindest people I’ve ever met… they’re just misunderstood. All said the request for our worgen to have the option of a tail is not related to furries in the slightest, their posture just feels lacking or unbalanced without one. Personally I’m a huge werewolf nut and been so for ages and while yes I acknowledge not all werewolves got a tail but the ones that do are the brand I like more as they have that fierce majesty you just don’t find in most games. I was honestly super excited hearing we’d get worgen back when Cata was to retail… the model they showed in the trailer had me hyped… then they cheap shotted us by giving us that ugly as sin model for ten years. Now…they’re doing it again but in Cata classic… what’s next the cone of shame as a helm skin? Just be kind to the worgen for once Blizz…give us optional tails, stop smacking us with the dang newspaper roll

All my luck now that I’ve said all that about how furries aren’t bad folk… watch the elves are going to summon the mass report discord and try to strike me down again. I say the elves are behind it as…it’s always a dang elf lately… not all of them clearly but still i wouldn’t be surprised if that discord consists of a ton of them. Anyways… here’s hoping Worgen get optional tails. We’re a core race who’ve been overlooked countless times now, we should get our love and additional options long before any allied race at this point.

Worgen want tails…so let them have the option to have one or not

Why is this even a topic of debate?

Panda can have a tail or a nub so why does it matter?

That would be among the words I’d use. Yes.

I admit to knowing next to nothing about furries. But most people claim to rarely talk in game anyway… so what is the issue?

How would anyone know you are not just a player enjoying the options of a slender girl who turns wild and ferocious when she fights? Or perhaps they come from a background where werewolves are part of the mythology… or a zillion other ‘head cannons’ ?

Why don’t female Pandas who don’t have tails in real life bother them? Why don’t Tauren tails count? Drenaei tails??? I 'd like to understand why Worgen having an optional tail is an issue for some people???

Because it should have been an option from the start. The concept art for female Worgen had tails. And had Blizzard not run out of time when Cataclysm was being worked on I have a feeling we might already have it an option. The issue came in when Blizzard took so much time on the revamped Goblin zone 2 weeks before Cata was supposed to hit live we STILL didn’t have a working female Worgen model in game. Just think about that only 2 weeks to go before the AAA title was to hit live servers and we had only seen 3 images of like 4 stills each of the female Worgen look. Everyone called it the Alpha Worgen look and most seemed to like the concept that was done, they even had something like 15 hair styles with the model. But a small group came in and said they didnt look vicious enough… So Blizzard scrapped the model and put the Abomination into the game. A model that never should have got past QA and was one of the worst models to ever hit live servers. And it showed people hardly played Female Worgen at all. So for 10 years we were neglected due to a small player base… well Blizzard why did you put out a model that was so hated and yet blame us for not wanting to play it?

Worgen were so neglected by Blizzard we are the only Core Race in the game who still to this day have not gotten a racial revamp. Even Goblins got it but Worgen have not. That right there should tell you tons. We had to wait 10 years to get a model revamp and once it happened you see a lot more players using the new Worgen female model. But our racials are so weak compared to others most people will not even consider playing the race.

Now on to your question. Why people have an issue with a optional Worgen tail? Who knows? Some claim its a lore reason. Which I still am waiting for one person to show me where its written in lore that Worgen can’t have tails. The whole argument that “Oh a story writer gave Genn a tail in her book and then said oh sorry he don’t have a tail” isn’t a lore reason it was a misteak of a writer. Most others like Chespin who come in are Furry haters… Which is utterly ironic as Chespin is a Tauren player… Just think about that for like 10 seconds. Its ok Im still laughing at that one any time they show up but they haven’t been posting so I wonder if they didnt get a big ban for the comments they made to me cause I have told people I am a Furry. There is nothing wrong with it but they took personal offence to it and kind of went off on me. Like I said Im still laughing to this day about it. I use my character Asheru Swiftwind everywhere and even have a Twitch stream based around her. So ya I don’t care if people don’t like me for it or not. But that tends to be the two main arguments about why Worgen shouldn’t have tails. Our stance is Worgen tails should be optional so those who like the current look can keep it and those who want a tail can choose that. More options will always be better for any race. Hope that helps.

Yes! Yes!

Just ask Kate Beckingsale!

Werewolves having tails is dependent on folk lore and the affliction usually.

In some tales… they do have tails. In some they don’t.

Weirdly enough in some tales they also steal beer.

Also to add in the skyrm universe, folks afflicted with lycanthropy do have tails.

They should give every race the option to have a tail.

especially gnomes.

Who says they don’t have one but we just can’t see it?

I have looked.

Wolvar have tails…not Worgen.

yeah…that one especially is almost like a tauren with mad cow disease though. First time they showed up (despite that post being torn down by now) they started demanding that every player with a max level worgen be banned for having such, they got hopefully punished for that but every time after they act just as crazed. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re a confused child behind the screen. Then we got trolls who keep claiming worgen never had a tail so they shouldn’t and that is such a closed minded answer I mean come on. Void elves never existed prior to Legion so by that logic they shouldn’t of become a thing but hey what you know they did. Then we got those who complain about lore… which is always changing as the story isn’t over yet. A lore reason for worgen to get the option could easily be Tess Greymane inviting Goldrinn, who maybe she’s friends with now idk, to dwell in Gilneas to help any worgen who need it to further control their curse. Then the player maybe wiping out the ettin still in Gilneas last I checked and using the ettin’s den for Goldrinn who then rewards the worgen who wish to learn from him and receive his blessing the option of a tail, maybe a title of Son/Daughter of Goldrinn but mostly the tail option. There is zero reason worgen shouldn’t get at least the option of a tail and nobody can convince me otherwise

And yet, that can so easily change. I mean, you Night Elves used to absolutely DESPISE high elf magic users. Persecuted them to the point of banishing them from your society.

Then contrary to all Kaldorei culture and lore…you now have mages.

That’s just one of many examples of how easily things change, both culturally and physically…many of them quite drastic. Giving Worgen tails is NOTHING, compared to many of them.

I’m still holding out hope they’ll actually give worgen tails. I was thinking about this and worgen without tail options - could you imagine vulpera without tails?

Also - people that have some weird hangups about supposed furry agendas… that ship sailed - vulpera have it as do our cute and curvy panda ladies. So…

Give worgen some tail options!

Funny enough there was an early peek at Vulpera that didn’t include having a tail, I do recall seeing that was a thing but they realized that looked weird so we vulpera got our tails. Why exactly they didn’t give worgen the option of a tail like female pandas get is beyond me though. That and why the male pandas can’t have a tail… at the end of the day though more options is always nice especially for a core race that has less options for their true self than the human disguise form let alone less options that some allied races got

So… small issue. In the process of constructing the Naga thread, I have been making efforts not to knock any other playable race ideas. Then I noticed the Ankoan Megathread you and Bagzak actually link to. Rorrand explicitly tries to argue against Naga being made playable in it. Should I still not also argue against Ankoan/Jinyu being added before Naga in spite of that, even though Ankoans being added would directly conflict with Naga being added in a number of ways?

Why argue against more stuff being added? The whole point of this almost 16k post thread is we would like an optional tail added to the race we play so people can choose what look they want and use it. Making both sides happy. Why would one race or the other conflict with each other? The more options people have the more likely they are to use em. The way I look at it more will always be better than less or nothing new added.
