Give void elves/dwarves the ability to customize their racials

I said Undead used to be Humans, Humans that were Alliance. I never said Undead were Alliance.

Undead have their own theme though they have a very distinct undead thematic, that is different from the human thematic they had before they died. Undead were actually part of the horde in warcraft 1 and 2, so that fits.

Bloodelves are an alliane themed race, they were put on the horde because horde themed races were not popular enough so the devs took an alliance themed race to put alliance theme on the horde and draw over some of the alliance players to blanace the factions.

The whole point of blood elves is to be an alliance theme on the horde, you’re just playing as a horde alliagned alliance character.

Blood Elves would have had their own theme if they embraced fel magic but Blizzard decided to regress their story.

I keep seeing that reason, yet Blizzard made the Lore in their game and in WoW and they joined Horde. You want Blizzard to back and rewrite the games to suit your desires?

Yeah and that was a bad choice, the fel theme would have fit more with the horde given horde have roots in fel addictions.

I want blizzard to be consistant with their own writing, but sadly that isn’t going to happen.

…wait…only one other race has had fel addiction in the horde. Cool theme but hardly a precedent for the whole faction.

Man, those threads are tiring,

Void Elves are still void elves, dark skin, fair skin, purple skin or no, you’re following Alleria Windrunner, not Vereesa Windrunner (which is a good thing, since Vereesa is by far the worst windrunner).

Wildhammer Dwarves are still dwarves, and the stoneskin is an ability that all dwarves have for being descendants of the Earthen.

So… you want them to go back over a decade and be consistent? This is how it happened and it’s been in game for a long time. It blows my mind that this is being used as a reason.

(I dunno. She has the twins right? They don’t even have jobs. They’re the worst Windrunners)

I believe they will die down eventually. Particularly once pre-patch goes live and we can actually play with the new customization. I have a feeling the lion’s share of the pro-helfer community will be too busy playing their new High Elves to spend time posting about them on the forums beyond more “thank you”'s to the devs.

Obviously there will always be a few people posting either because they aren’t satisfied with the new options or just to troll and cause drama. In any case I am fairly certain there will be overall less posts about High Elves before the year is out.

I don’t think it hurts to ask for more customization. It’s easier than asking for an entire new race all the time. It’s just a spell effect and such essentially. This xpac is all about customization for your races and characters after all. As long as it makes sense. Idk void elves I feel don’t really need to have an arcane thing imo. I personally just want more hairstyles and hair colors with maybe purple eye options. alliance players sometimes ask for some questionable stuff that it would be a tough fight for them to get.

horde over here have a laundry list of wants and races and customization options after all as well as want their allied race to have a nearly complete overhaul with nightborne which they will probably get.

NO.

YOU ARE A DWARF OR YOU ARE A VOID ELF.

THAT’S IT.

Blizzard, revert this ill-considered “HiGh ElF” customization for the love of God. Kill all the high elves. All of them. Wipe out Quel’danas, Quel’lithien, Allerian Stronghold, mana-bomb Dalaran. I don’t care. Kill all the high elves and be done with it.

No, void elves that don’t use the void would not be void elves. Do not take the void out of the void elves.

I do not feel that the wildhammer, being that they are biologically the same as ironforge dwarves, needs to have their own racials.

Themes and lore are not the same thing.

Queldorei fought on the side of the Alliance in every war through Vanilla. In Vanilla, there were High Elf NPCs and they were flagged as Alliance and hostile to Horde. There weren’t any friendly to Horde. The natural progression would have been for High Elves to come into the Alliance in the expansion, and the expectation was that the Horde would get Eredar. There was never any hint that any Queldorei would go to the Horde.

Then Blizzard decided that in order to better balance the factions, they would switch their partially developed High Elves and Eredar, giving the former to the Horde as Blood Elves and the latter to the Alliance as Draenei. Since Blizzard decided to do this, of course it became canonical lore. But, it broke the faction themes.

I remember lots of objections at the time, both from Alliance who wanted High Elves and from Horde who wanted to keep their faction the “monster faction”. There was a big split in the Alliance RP community between people who couldn’t stomach going to Horde and people who really wanted to play Tolkeinesque elves. This was because there was a big mismatch between the lore and the theme. Entire guilds left for Warhammer because of its more traditional faction split; I would have done that myself if they’d supported the Mac.

So yes, Blood Elves are a Horde race, but they have always been Alliance themed because of historical and ongoing connection to Alliance High Elves.

We literally have Kultiran humans who are the same race as Stormwind humans having different racials!

I wasn’t saying they should have been a horde race. Just that the blood elves that we got, in part to joining the horde, are (imo) more interesting than if we’d just kept standard high elves.

That’s all.

Let’s hope not, anyway.

At least the kultirans has a different bigger build then the humans, then wild hammers v. dwarves and in a seperate race slot.

Right. Sheesh. I’m happy people got more choices to help with their headcanon but this new push to just run all over another fandom so that they can get what they want is just the worst.
