My goal, as stated in the title was “natural hair colors”. If that means Kul’Tiran or Blood Elf, whatever. I just want Alliance players to have an option to look like the Alliance-aligned, High-Elf NPCs scattered throughout the world.
To me, the easiest path is to copy-paste Blood Elf options to Void Elves. However, if it is accomplished by copy-pasting Kul’tiran options to Void Elves, so be it.
I like the Alliance more than the Horde. Just like Horde players like the Horde more than the Alliance. There’s lore justification for Alliance-aligned High Elves, and I wanna play them.
Let’s pull our natural hair colors from an alliance race (humans as they have a blonde and orange tone I like) and maybe some natural hairstyles as well . . . also more void options to appease the folks who want more void options.
Agreed. Also, texture wise the easiest thing to do is use Kul Tiran hair color. They already share the same textures and even adornment textures so it’d literally just be sharing the color assets from one race to the other. People on Twitter have already done it super easily. And it looks great!
Honestly agreed. The new skin options definitely suffice for getting that High Elf player fantasy as Alliance. But seeing those weird dark eyebrows pop through helmets is still mildly immersion-breaking, so it’d be nice to have regular hair colors to go atop the Void Elf hair styles.
What we really need are ranger tattoos like Alleria for Void Elves.
Giving void elves normal skin tones is one thing, but giving them the other thing visually separating them from blood elves is pushing it. After that, all that belves would have left would be paladins, demon hunters, and all of Silvermoon, but the helf crowd wants to give at least two of those to velves, too.
Also, I think the tentacled velf hairstyles were intended to only be paired with the hair colors that velves already have. That one fem velf hairstyle with the tentacle ponytail would look off in blonde unless they also gave you the option to color the tentacles independently of the rest of the hair like the color streak options for fem pandaren hair.
It would be easy to do, because all the hair models and even the models themselves use the same UV maps, so all blizzard literally has to do is just copy the hair textures from the blood elves and add them to the void elves.
