Give us duall spec on the new servers. Please...OR at least reduced costs of respec

  • Wrath baby when respeccing: “Waaaaaaah 50 gold?! this is way too expensive!”
  • Same player when buying 5 Chronoboons to get one set of world buffs: “yayyyy!!!”

Weirdo who thinks dual spec ruins the game: “Waahhhhhhhhh!!!”

Very disingenuous. Dual spec just enables parsing culture further by rightfully expecting every potential pug group member to be in the meta cookie cutter spec for all content. That’s a huge change to a fundamental property of classic. The only people pushing for it are the same people who try to ruin the game with GDKP and 12 page resumes for easy content. The last thing that should be done is enable them to destroy an era fresh too.

Instead, just come to terms that you might be doing some dungeons with people in pvp specs. You can grey parse and clear content in vanilla, so that’s fine.

If that really is the case, then make it where your spec is locked into a raid instance ID where you have to use the same spec that you killed the first boss with. But that is stupid, they wouldn’t do that. If someone wants to meta the game by using dual spec to parse, then who cares. That literally effects like less than 1% of the playerbase.

If a pug grp requires dual spec that same grp will require any other meta stuff.

Dual spec does not change anything.

It doesn’t tho. Meta is created by the path of least resistance. If dual spec is allowed, it becomes mandatory in pugs. You will be hard pressed to find a group in LFG not demanding it. It’s not classic, and this is a museum of classic.

In any other game that isn’t 20 years old and done with development, brought back only to serve as a museum of it’s own creation, you’d have standing to argue for dual spec. But that’s not the case here.

Really its not.

The cost is fine.

You wont ever need dual spec in pugs.

You’ll need 1 optimized spec like always.

You won’t need any though since you dont even raid. You just have this weird phobia that good quality of life changes will somehow impact your ultra casual gameplay, which is hilarious.

Then don’t join pugs that require a mandatory dual spec optimization? Also how in the world do you expect a pug leader to keep track of everyone’s spec and subspec? This is only going to happen on sweaty hardcore guilds. I litterally don’t see how this is an issue. You are trying to find an issue where one doesn’t exist. The benefits far outweigh the cons (if any cons).

You can’t possibly believe people don’t do this regardless. Did you even think before you clicked post?

As someone who almost exclusively heals in vanilla content – no. I’m more likely to want to party with you if I’m stuck in a heal spec, because doing stuff solo as an hpal is kinda miserable. So, even though dual spec would benefit me, my healer is more likely to benefit you because I need your damage while I’m spec’d holy. And that’s what vanilla is all about: Everyone can’t do everything, so they need to group up.

Retail is on the same launcher, if you want easy spec swapping.

But that’s not really a problem, if you prefer holy, you won’t mind still healing dungeon, group quest and raid, where’s the problem in you actually being able to do damage while questing solo, or farming.

But don’t you see, Dual Spec already exists in Classic Vanilla.

You simply have to pay gold to the class trainer, and you are able to change your spec.

You can even do this multiple times if you wanna try multiple different specs.

So there’s nothing to see here right? A non issue.

We can get dual spec and it wont affect you thanks.

If the problem is respecs are too expensive because it’s 100g to swap and go back, wouldn’t simply lowering the cost of respecs solve that issue entirely, without changing almost anything of the Classic Vanilla gameplay?

To me, that’s one of the best compromises to solve this problem and satisfy both people who want to be able to change specs more often, and people who want the keep the Classic Vanilla gameplay.
