They know their players way too well.
They don’t want people dipping in during the last week when all LFR are available. They want people grinding as long as possible.
True, unfortunately.
If all players bought six-months subs, each month of game time would only be 12.99. The more players that buy game time with gold, the more money Blizzard gets (20 per month) for providing the exact same service.
So the only way to stop supporting bad design direction is to not log in.
Perhaps my cutoff should be August 1st so that I don’t count as an MAU for that month. But I could wait until actual patch day to see if the decision has been reversed, and not log in.

It’s not something I’ll uninstall over. It would have just been nice for them not to change the terms of acquiring the mount right before the season starts. If they hadn’t changed it, it wouldn’t have become a controversy.
But they seem to like stepping in their own poop quests.

So, from this what we should take away is when Blizzard says “wE’rE lisTeniNG To pLaYeR FeEdbACk” they mean the 1% of players who do hardcore raiding because Ion is still a shill for raids and has a bigger hard on for pandering to raiders than Jeff Kaplin has for men’s left nipples (look at the number of overwatch male characters that have specificly only the left nipple exposed lol)
Seriously, this is why the project lead shouldn’t be some one heavily invested in a specific type of content it leads to stuff like this, which has been happening since Cata dropped, more and more of the end game is focused ONLY on raids, and punishes casuals for not being into raiding or in raid guilds.

Exactly this, they know the recycled content isn’t going to bring players back especially with DF a few months down the track.
Ive played the entire expansion of SL and gotten CE/KSH for multiple seasons, the only thing I’m getting in S4 is the raid mount and the 4th recolour of the KSM mount then im done until next xpac.
Time Gated release of LFR in S4 of an expansion is truly a baffling decision.
I have no interest in CE or KSH this season as it’s just a complete waste of time doing recycled raids.

I agree, a very short season and a few steps from the new expansion, it does not give much to be desired even if you are a hardcore.
Worse for those who are going to play WotLK classic.

Other players have said something similar.
Not just casual players, but also high level raiders would have liked to chill during Season 4, doing LFR for the time-limited mount instead of having to actually raid or progress.
This whole season and everything about it is costing Blizzard more subs and good will than it is earning them.
This experiment is so poorly through out that it has failed before it even starts.

A huge portion of the playerbase is going to be affected by this, not just a few forum posters.
The majority of players do raids on LFR or higher (possibly even a larger majority than usual in S4 if we could earn the mount for it), but less than half of all players raid at Normal or above.
Many casual players couldn’t even get the raid cleared on Normal in 9.2, so how are they going to do it when the raid is tuned even higher and has more affixes?
And to top it all off, devs have made it a blatant policy for no gear upgrades to be available for open world casuals in S4, so it is going to be nearly impossible for them to get into groups in their 250 ZM sets.
LFR will award 265/272, but by the time you get a full set of gear, premades will already be asking for much higher than that just for Normal.
This issue affects the community at large, even the elitist community, because eventually there won’t be enough players left to fund game development.
Microsoft is our only hope at this point….

The lower raiding participation gets, the more desperate WoW devs get to push it, and the more subs the game loses. So the game’s social communities deteriorate even further, making it even harder for players to get into premade raids, and devs see the lower numbers and concoct all these systems to elevate raiding again.
It’s a vicious cycle that devs will never get out of until they accept the cold, hard truth that the demand for raiding has gone down, and raiders are their hardest customers to please.

Didn’t this same OP say he was going to uninstall because “nerf mage tower right now or I uninstall” back in December?

meh. I like that there is a lot of mounts and mogs I cant get unless I run high end content. Keeps the dream alive, lol.
Is the slime cat mount worth losing your mind over? You’ll use it for a day or two and then it will never get used again
Yea, this is bound to work. Threatening to quit over one of 700 mounts in the game. Excellent strategy.

OK, but I want the Restoration Deathwalker for +5s. Why should I have to slog through +15s that I don’t enjoy if people will be getting a raiding mount for dying on the pull in LFR?

Hope the players that stay for Season 4 enjoy it, but I refuse to support such poor development decisions.

172 mounts added in shadowlands with 164 of those being obtainable outside of raid or rated content.
Non end game players don’t need another.
