Make the new slime cat mount available through completing all fated raids on ANY difficulty (including LFR) of raid in Season 4, or I uninstall right now. No more paying dollars or farming gold for my multiple accounts, and I tell all my RL friends and family members who are on the fence not to come back to WoW.
I know that traditionalist raiders are going to say that raiding is the foundation of WoW, but LFR is raiding. Why else did Blizzard create it in the first place if not to allow the entire player base to experience current raids? So give all your players, even returnees, a reason to experience all three raids of Shadowlands at updated difficulty levels.
I know all of the traditionalist raiders are going to pop in and say that this is an MMO, I need to do group content. Well, LFR is as MMO as it gets, downing bosses in large groups of players that happen to be available at the same time as you, and that opted for the same content as you.
Pugging 30 odd raid bosses on three specific weeks is not going to be an option for some of us, and paying exorbitant amounts of gold for carries is not going to be an option either.
What does Blizzard seek to gain from this, if not tokens or increased time played, or kudos from serious raiders?
The slime cat mount is the wrong reward for the wrong audience. Give the serious raiders some kind of menacing or grotesque black mount with spikes or red fumes coming out of it like you usually do, and let the poor kitty out of its cage for the casual players who actually want it.
It’s a green slime cat, man, it’s not some amazing reward. You’re acting like they threatened to delete any toon that doesn’t set foot in at least a normal raid.
I tend to agree that at this point they should just make it open to all raid tiers but I honestly despise people who pull the “do what I say or I quit” card. And we both know that it is a fake threat anyways…

Can’t disagree with the sentiment OP. After having the achievement in game for months listed as ANY DIFFICULTY (that includes LFR) and less than a week before Season 4 launches pull the old switchero and say “Nope! Only Normal or higher scrubs! Rolflmao!” is pretty disgusting behavior. Hopefully people do unsub and uninstall the game. The only way to actually get through to Blizzard is to mess with their money. I myself unsubbed today. If Blizz reverts this change and allows for LFR players to achieve the Slime Saber mount in LFR, then I’ll resub. Simply won’t give money to a company that intentionally misleads its players.
No, Blizzard still has a few days to get their act together. If they can change their minds for their top streamers in a matter of days, they can change for everyone else as well.
Unless Normal becomes queueable, many players are still going to have to pug three full raids or buy three full carries.
The slime cat and spellbook mount were initially teased as participation-level rewards in that vote that was held, where the tree mount eventually won.
Now the spellbook and cat have both been brought back to the stable, but the bar for obtaining them has been set prohibitively high.
Blizzard wants as much blood, sweat, tears, money, or gold as possible for mounts they know casual players will want.
