The problem is that Gladiator dps needs to be the fourth spec for warriors and Blizzard is too lazy for that. It sure would be nice to have though. Sword and board dps was the best.
Gladiator as a talent or new spec, SMF returned, dual wield arms, dual weild or 2h parry tank.
All these make sense to me. And I want them so bad. I reckon SMF will happen and am hopeful for Gladiator, I think the rest would be really unlikely though.
Warriors need to be given a Commander specialization and a gladiator sword and board specialization.
So, I’ve been thinking about this ever since I saw this thread. Gladiator should come back as a 4th talent, and it should focus on melee and mid range attacks, utility, and it should borrow heavily from the Diablo 2 lightening Amazon build. These are just some ideas for skills/Talents that popped into my head:
Barbed Net: Throw a barbed net that roots the victim in place. The target suffers a damage taken increase de buff, and bleeds. The damage taken bonus is increased for targets immune to the rooting effect.
Bolt of Lightening: Your thrown spear is charged by your rage: It does X amount of damage as nature.
Blood and Thunder: Targets that are bleeding take additional nature damage when Thunderclap is used.
Fury of the Storm (AoE): Hurl your spear into the air, and have it rain down lightening bolts that strike all nearby enemies.
This is a very rough list but you get the idea.
I’d love for it to come back, it was a lot of fun in WoD.
Since the DPS Warrior specs are getting Shield Slam and Shield Block baseline, a shield DPS subspec (for Arms at least) could be an option. Something like a talent that gives you a dmg buff with a shield equipped, buffs Shield Slam so you use it instead of Mortal Strike, and replaces Shield Block with Shield Charge?
Personally think there’s space in the game for a reactive sword and board dps spec/option that acts as a noob check in PvP. One of the things I miss most is watching crap rogues,dks eating revenge spam while hitting into sblock.
Absolutely, adding another tanking option is never a bad idea. Demo tanking could be an offshoot of demo but they aren’t creative enough to make it work
