I think you are getting confused over Gladiators resolve (the talent) and Gladiator Stance (the stance that replaced battle stance, which you couldn’t swap out of in combat. Thereby you were stuck as a dps (glad stance) or a tank (defensive stance)).

I quit playing my warrior when hey took Glad. Loved the fantasy of a sword and board. A literal Abrams Tank going into battle.

I used gladiator to dps in highmaul and it was fun.

Will they bring it back? Prob not but giving the other specs SB indicates stances are returning or we may see this sword and board dps gladiator

If it came back, it would be a different spec rather than just a talent.

Then I propose that change protection to vangaurd. We already have a protection paladin and vangaurd is what separates us from arms and fury

Personally I don’t want gladiator to come back. I think it would be jarring for players who are used to the spec the way it is

Honestly, I’d be okay with this. Change Protection to vanguard (as suggested below) and add Gladiator.

My biggest regret in choosing to skip WoD was that I only got to experience Gladiator Stance for a couple months. It was by far the most fun I had ever had on a warrior. I love the sword and board aesthetic, but don’t like the Warrior Tanking flow. I loved the sound of those big, heavy Shield Slams and it felt truly unique from other classes/specs.

When I first made my Warrior in 2004 I loved that I had systems that supported a wide array of weapons. Now it’s all 2H all the time; either in DW or single wield format. Don’t get me wrong, I like 2H just fine, but I personally love the idea of SMF over the Diablo Barbarian style of dual wielding 2H weapons. I feel like the pruning took more than just specific abilities, but in our ability to have a wider array of unique styles of warrior. It may not be the optimal setup, but Gladiator DPS was more FUN.

I 100% stopped playing warrior when they removed this ability.

This is one of my most desired abilities in WoW! This post should get more attention.

So glad (haha) to see this post continuing to get attention. I’m thinking at the very least maybe we can put it on Blizzard’s radar when they inevitably start throwing ideas back into the game that they know will get people to come back to play. looks at SL Alpha so far oh, wait, lol.
