The Ashbringer in game is a 2h sword, so when Tirion was holding it in that specific cutscene it was more of a retcon to make it fit the cinematic, but Frostmourne the sword itself has always been understood by artists at blizzard to be a 1h weapon. It’s about as equal to Shalamayne.
If Frostmourne was in game it would be a 2 hander.
From wowpedia
Just as the blade rends flesh, so must power scar the spirit.” Frostmourne was the mourneblade of the Lich King. A fearsome, rune-inscribed two-handed longsword, it possessed the power to shatter and imprison the souls of its victims and could remake the living into mindless undead.
If Frostmourne was designed by you it would be a 2 hander.
I for the longest time also thought it was a 2 hander, but I realized later after much study that it is in fact a 1 handed weapon.
Just make it have a transmog for both one handed and two handed, then people can have it both ways.
In game, Arthas swings frostmourne with two hands.
In game, hartas hold frostmourne with 1 hand when not swinging.
In game, you hold your 2h weapon with one hand, and swings with two.
The wiki is not actually maintained by Blizzard by the way. So continuing to quote it isn’t helping.
You have already been given a source which states that Frostmourne is a 2h weapon.
Official source.
Why do you keep pushing this topic? stop vandalizing this thread.
He kept quoting the wiki dude you need to chill and accept the facts.
Though it’s not maintained by blizzard it’s right on this. Not all wiki’s are false just because ItS nOt MaInTaInEd bY bLiZz
Lmao hahaha
It stands to reason then that the corrupted ashbringer should be made available en mass.
Frostmoure was destroyed, it’s peices reforged into new blades and the one guy in the multiverse who could have made another one would not under any circumstances.
According to the lore of course.
I mean, if it exists and is wholly seperated from all the things that made it Frostmourne beyond aesthetics then it stands to reason that there is no reason that other classes couldn’t use it.
You mean for ones that canonically ceased to exist and later on have dollar store versions bereft of any of the things that made the originals so legendary? Yeah I’d be fine with that.
Like I got the Evoker legendary back in season 2 and if a prot warrior wanted to get it -well first I’d ask why because it’s not exactly good looking- but I wouldn’t have a problem with it.

Blood of the Highborne is a novella focusing on the creation of the Blood Knights. Its existence was first mentioned at Blizzcon 2010, when Chris Metzen said that it had been written but they had never found a good way to release it.
Just for fun, this was awhile back. It’s cool how they forged Frostmourne, it’s really a complex weapon to make from a detailed standpoint.
When I first started bladesmithing my friend said make me Frostmourne. And I’m like ehh that’s far too difficult right now lol.
Henceforth accuses anyone who can out debate him of being a troll. Given enough time I’m sure he’ll be ignorant of half the conversations going on in this thread.
Forstmourne is a hand and a half sword, sometimes called a bastard sword. They are specifically known for being able to be used effectively in both one or both hands.
Yeah im definitely going to become an rper and go to the rp servers and start selling legendary weapon replicas. Won’t sell the dracthyr stuff cause not even the dracthyr think they look good.
You do understand that they refered to it as a Longsword correct? And that while this typically means 2handed (as the term “long” refers to the handle and not the blade) there is nothing preventing someone from onehanding it.
As he does througout wc3.
The “Corrupted Ashbringer” was a fishing quest, so why not? I’d buy a “Frostmourne” mog.
