Gilgoblin NPCs appear at the dock near Orgrimmar

It was pointed out to me that if you’ve done Vashj’ir and Nazjatar on a single character, Nari and co. appear near the dock. Went to check, and… Lo and behold, three gilgoblins, a makrura and a sea giant, just kind of chilling out there.

I wonder if this could be hinting at something to come?

Goddess, I hope so!

I was so eager to have playable Kelfin I went out and collected as many aquatic themed transmog options as I could, and (at the time) reserved some quirky names. Alas, my heart broke when the Vulpera were announced.

I’m still sad about it today. I want my gilgolbins!

Here’s hoping we can get them sometime in the near future- Honestly, they have a pretty similar “mood” to their races, so I feel like they’d be fast friends given the chance to interact.

I would like them and sethrak to become allied races for horde and in return let the Alliance pick two of there choice.

No don’t let Alliance choose. They’ll choose another flavour of High Elf twice

Gilgoblins were probably originally planned as an AR but the outcry for your critter race made them not be playable and have rat foxes instead.

Just had to check it out .

That would be cool if there are possible Kelfin in the future .

Yep! Neri, Poen and Vim all out there. Showed up in 8.3 So my reasons why I think they may be out there:

  1. They unofficially joined the horde, but like taunka aren’t playable.

  2. They may be going to join up at a later time similar to naga.

  3. Possibly originally planned as the goblin AR and those are leftover assets.

  4. Possibly they are going to be used for some story plot later.

  5. To add representation to horde factions, but more so to present them as customization.

Now the thing that makes it extra suspicious that they are out there is that they are unique in this regard. None of the other races we helped in BFA showed up at a capital city. Not even ankoan. There is a few dark rangers, but those have been apart of the horde for a long time.

That’s because blizz just doesn’t care about alliance stuff.

Certainly sad if so.

Tbh I kinda doubt they were planned initially if only for the fact that they made the female gilgoblin model the same graphical fidelity as the cataclysm-era male gilgoblin.

Could have been planned at some point during early development though and the decision was prior to bfa. They should be playable though and be partners with Vulpera since both are like bread and butter in lore.

And it would still be a better choice that whatever hot garbage Blizzard comes up with next for us.

After the aberration that is Mechagnomes I can only assume the team that decides allied races hates Alliance with a passion.

It’s so sad to see this thread devolve so quickly into Mechagnome hatred and anti-Alliance bias. I’m sorry this happened, Nuva.

Nothing wrong with mechagnomes. Honestly most of the hate is coming from a small group of Sethrak supporters propagating hate memes and ideas about this race to make themselves better about not getting Sethrak. Its been widely accepted that they make sense as they gnome AR and a lot of the people who do like them are just playing and enjoying them rather than talking about them on the forums right now.

By the time Nazjatar came out, Vulpera were already decided as the playable race for sure. However seems these are left over mappings of their original plan. They plan the expacs years ahead after all so they probably had the idea for Kelfins there at the end of BFA for a long time already.

Being fair the Alliance got more “sub races” through customization while the horde only got trolls… so my guess is they want the horde to seem more diverse through NPCs to make up for that.

Alliance should get Ethereals. Void elves literally have a racial of how much they are BFFs with Ethereals so it just makes sense.

They’re Gnomes.

They turn all leg armor into daipers.

I just named two, and didn’t even have to think hard.

While I applaud your efforts Gnomest, Phlynch has made his stance on Gnome-hating quite clear over the last two years. You fight a losing battle against someone who has no intention of listening to you. Good luck, my friend.

Ya again. The whole diaper gnome idea is something I am 95% sure was created by the Sethrak Community to smear mechagnomes as a horrible idea. I wanted gilgoblins, but I am not going around being like “ugh we got disguisting furries” and stuff.
