But to be honest, this conflict is why I say avoid AR discords like the plague. Constant arguing over what will and will not become an AR. It is what initially prompted me to speak up about the whole Gilblin thing. A bunch of people saying Gilblin supporters were pretty much non existent.

I’m not impressed. I don’t think it’s fair to Gil either, of whom has been civil this entire time.

What do you guys think we’ll see from these folk in 8.2? Perhaps a Gilgoblin rebellion against the naga in general? They’re kind of their own entities, and not slaves, right? Or are they just sheerly slaves in most cases.

I think it depends. They often seem to be free range, but in the deep parts of vashjir some are being forcefully controlled by naga via merciless ones. Or maybe they’re universally enslaved and most are just really compliant.

Anyway I have an awesome racial idea. So hear me out. We’d need a new animation probably for this, maybe. But it could be cool.

Puddle Jumper: You splash water onto the ground and jump into it, immune to all damage for 3 seconds.

It’d be a…bubble… For Gilgoblin. Hehehe.

Don’t be discouraged about people saying “no” for 8.2, there’s always a chance at any point in time for your folk.

What if they made gils into a “night warrior” type of thing, since gils are created via modified goblins? Or do you want them their own exclusive race. Either works, since Gils arose in Cata and could be considered culturally separate, but I dunno…

This will be the same situation as Nightborne and Highmountain Tauren. We will work with the Giblins and Oncoans in 8.2, but they will be added as ARs at the end of the expansion.

I’d like it, they could make a really entertaining questline involving Greely and Hobart’s experiments.

A neat idea I had for the recruitment quest is if Gallywix somehow makes a deal with the Gilgoblins to help attack an Alliance treasure ship, likely transporting Stormwind treasure to help fund their own war efforts.

It could start off boarding the giant ship, with a horde of Gilgoblins jumping onto it with water elementals and crabs and such, and eventually the ship would sink so the Gilgoblins could dive in and gather up all the sunken treasure. Gallywix would take his share, of course, but also promise more treasure if the Gilgoblins join the Horde to help assist in deep sea operations. I feel like theres some neat storyline potential, in general, with this.

I think I would make mine a survival hunter, with a trident transmog. Likely with an aquatic pet, like a crab.

Though I don’t particularly care to play this race, I find the concept cool as well as the ideas you put into it. Given that we will be meeting gilgoblins in 8.2, I find it very likely this will be one of the next Allied Races.
