I sort of think they’ll do another batch of 4 races, and release them in 8.3.5 to give people something to do in the lull between the end of BFA and the start of 9.0.

It looks like these Gilgoblins are in many ways like we predicated they might be earlier. They have more of a magical affinity it seems. They seem a lot more caring and selfless than most goblins. This is an interesting new spin on things.

I hope this is true, because I think Gilgoblin and Ankoan would be perfect Allied Races alongside the likely Vulpera and Mechagnomes.

I think those four would be great to round off the expansion with. An aquatic race on each side especially would be cool.

At the moment, this is something that I just heard from someone so I am not positive it is true. I am trying to find a spot that shows where these female Ankoan voice lines are. Supposedly they have all male models, but some of them have female voice model indicating that they will likely get a model update. Someone also noted that the models are marked with PH in the files which means placeholder. If anyone finds something on it, please link it.

I don’t know if the models themselves are labeled as placeholder or not, but the follower UI elements are. Pretty much any UI element with a gilblin or ankoan model in it has the tag. Maybe it doesn’t mean anything at all, but I still thought it was interesting.

@Zimos For how Gral met them, it was likely after his temple’s destruction and Horde Adventurers coming in later on and starting the culling of Naga. He mentions how he was going to take the fight to Azshara and swims off. So during this span of time we haven’t seen him, he could have found Neri and given his blessing when she proved to be rebelling against the Naga, thus empowering her to free more of the Unshackled which also brings up the worshiper count for Gral which in turn grants him more power which benefits his new followers.

Pretty sweet deal honestly :grinning:

If Gilgoblins were going to be druids, they’d probably learn it through some sort of loa or wild God. Gral seems like a perfect candidate for that.

So I’ve also gotten word that Ankoan apparently also worship the shark loa gral. Seems to me like Gilgoblins and Ankoan could make a great pairing.

Imagine we end up finding out next expansion that the Gigoblins have fully regained their intelligence and now Naga are working for them for peanuts. Gilgoblins end up being a sort of Naval force or the Horde. I can see this happening.

And if the Bilgewater recruit them, I can see Gallywix trying to use them to retake Kezan.

What I am particularly curious about is how Hobart Grapplehammer’s interactions with them will be. This is because Hobart is their creator. Although gilgoblins seem like they have developed into a very different culture and nature typical that that you see of many goblins. They stand on their own and I wouldn’t expect them to just join the Horde because Hobart is their creator. I’d expect it because the Horde may be able to provide them a safe haven and new home.
