Gilgoblin Allied Race suggestions/discussion

I know its been a while since I posted on here, and others have likely noted it but who here is loving that female Gilgoblin voice lines? The effect on it is awesome! Also of note is that they are getting back in intellect given they have trainers for professions instead of salvaged Trainers-In-A-Boxes

Since we have at least one area with named NPC’s, are there any signs of who the leader of The Unshackled is? I imagine it would be a Gilblin that is a leader, and likely would be the racial leader if Gilblins become an allied race. ^^

According to this, Neri Sharpfin was the first of the Kelfin to escape and she unified the unshackled. What is interesting about this is that there are a number of indications that show they have become extremely intelligent and learned a great deal within a short amount of time.

Also notice how most of the Unshackled seems to consist of Gilgoblins and all the emissaries are Gilgoblins.

Not many even play the goblins we already have…them taking the time to make this an allied race I feel like would be a waste. No offense to the people that like them just my opinion.

All 3 have a buff called ‘Gral’s Blessing’ and the description says it comes from those who are faithful followers of the Loa Gral.

They are followers of the Shark Loa.

Edit: You can see it when the mouse hovers over their buffs in the video.

I don’t know, but that’s a pretty big point in their favor.
That means at the least that they are probably more pious than normal Goblins.

@Gilblin(the user) I think you know what that means. You mentioned earlier that the only way you thought they could be druids was if they were given a blessing by Gral. It looks like that is exactly what has happened.

Although, I am not quite sure if we can say for sure if they are full blown druids at this point yet. Didn’t someone say that they say one of these Gilblins in cat form as an npc?

I wonder how them and Gral became all Acquainted .

I get the benefit for both, Gral get’s more followers that the other Loa probably wouldn’t think to try and get, ones who can go underwater and maybe even fix up his temple, they get help from a Deity, neither like Azshara and them helping each other undermines her, Symbiotic relationship that just so happens to have the same goal.
Just wondering how this all came to be.
I’m also wondering if the other races of the Unshackled follow him as well.

Right here. If you scroll down you will notice some female and male Gilgoblin racial icons. Perhaps someone here with trust level 3 can post these openly in the thread.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but back when 8.2 first went on the PTR, MMO-Champion datamined a bunch of UI elements used when you select which bodyguard you want in Nazjatar. What’s interesting about these elements is they’re all prefixed with “PH.”

For example: “answer-PH_mooblyShe” is the icon used by Neri Sharpfin.

So, why’s that interesting? Because I’d bet good money that gilblins will get new models either before 8.2 launches, or when 8.2.5 is out. That “PH” usually means “placeholder,” and it’s there in both the gilblin and ankoan UI elements.

All things considered, these two races would make an excellent allied race pair, and it’d still leave plenty of room for vulpera and mechagnomes too.

I’m honestly excited, because I’d be incredibly pleased with that lineup!

Thank you for bringing that up! Someone mentioned earlier that Ankoan seem to have some female voices. It could be that they will be getting a female model too we don’t know of yet.
