Gilgoblin Allied Race suggestions/discussion

If they ever do another Goblin-based allied race, this would be the obvious one to do.

I wouldn't play one myself-- and, as things stand, Goblin is the least popular race in the entire game-- so I am not sure there would be enough people playing this race to make it worthwhile... but...

So gilbins are pretty much like regular goblins now except none of that neat super intelligence goblins have yet all of the bad traits. If you were trying to be more accurate to the lore, a post like this wouldn't be possible for a gilbin to write. Gilbins can barely even formulate speech patterns. For this reason alone, a race like this won't work.

Gilgoblins can write. Gilblingle is the writer of the item Waterlogged Journal which reads (in reference to King Gurboggle):

"Our self-proclaimed king will stop at nothing to acquire my family fortune. He has threatened and harassed me to no end.

I can't take it anymore!

I've buried the treasure and fed the map to Blackfin.

That should keep my cousin's grubby little mitts off our precious heirlooms!"

So they're capable of speech and writing, theyre just not as smart as goblins and most of their voicelines just happen to be simpler (but not that badly structured) sentences

Its not just the lack of intelligence though and Kajamite is not something that works instantly, but has gradual effects over a long period of time. I personally would rather if they came out with imps as an allied goblin race.

I recommend making a thread that is detailed with an explanation as to why imps would decide to join either faction. If you can come up with a viable story and put work into said Allied Race, it has potential. But those that do come up with the Allied Race threads do put a lot of work in, and in order to get traction that's what needs to be done.

Now then, no one said however that there hasn't been a hidden group of Giblin that have been affected by the 'mite somewhere though. Anything can happen, and with Void Elves having been pulled out of thin air, it's not too much of a stretch.

Yes one thing I think that gives them potential is that aside from being mooks for stronger races, they're rather chaotically neutral and could be swayed. Plus them being genetically modified makes it easier to throw in a creation plotline

(Of course, imps are adorable :p)

Would I be fine with Demons as an Allied Race?

..Yes. Of course I would. Will it happen? I doubt it, unfortunately. I would love their lore to be expanded a little but though for the gods' sake.

Yes, all those poor hapless custom-err..tragic refugees. We must do something for their fragile demonic souls ;-;

Ayy that's an idea. Soul currency. That's what those fel engine things do right?
Oh they're Stormsong inhabitants too. Better update. We'll probs be seeing more of them on islands

And Suddenly Gallywix's potential recruits in the Embassy make sense.
There is another potentially better option though then Gilgoblins. A completely new race of goblins and also Undermine Goblins. They could take an existing race and give it special appearances like they did with void elves, but gilgoblins the way they are now wouldn't make for a good allied race. Remember they severly lack intelligence normal goblins do and Kajamite is not something that give you intelligence overnight. It takes generations of exposure to it to work as drastically as it did for Kezan Goblins.
Since you rp as a gilgoblin your answer is going to be naturally rather biased so I don't expect you to see the reasoning why gilgoblins cannot work as a race. Gilgoblin to be personally would be better off as a skin then a race, but Blizzard doesn't do skins.

I don't roleplay, I took the chance to snag a readable name on a high pop realm, and thought it would only be fitting to manage a thread with the appropriately termed alt. It's all fun here, I'm not trying to shun any superior alternatives

Yes perhaps this would have been easier if I had fragmented my original post lol

I guess I could write a super ridiculous explosion-centric scenario though..

Ideas are welcome ofc. I'll try to keep discussions coming, though admittedly I'm getting a bit attached to my nightborne lately, so I hope I don't end up losing interest
One more giblin idea before I go to bed. A crazy one. Because that's how I roll.

What if they were allies with... wait for it... wait for it.... the Kvaldir? Or something. What if there's a group of Kvaldir and Giblin working together, tormented by Azshara and the old gods, and seek to escape what, to them, would be torture? And magic has enhanced their abilities or something. I don't know, I'm tired, half asleep from rifting on Diablo 3.

...But the major issue right now is getting our Giblin out of the water. I'm sure we can find a solution to that. I know it.

Kvaldir are sorta undead right? And Sylvie is familiar with them and their pretty lights..

Also stole this from your darkfallen thread, because I see some interesting implications. Thnx doggo

So here's something that I feel strongly supports our vampy friends joining up at one point or another. There's been a lot of discussion in this thread about who would be their racial leader. Apologies if I've missed this, but one thing that I haven't seen much discussion about is who would be the San'layn's emissary.

Turalyon, Alleria, and Moira have unique positions in that they serve both as emissaries to their respective allied races and their racial leaders. The Horde leaders, conversely, don't have this distinction.

But first, here's a recap of every character present in each faction's embassy;

Alliance
Anduin Wrynn
Turalyon
Alleria
Moira
Tyrande
Genn Greymane
Velen
Gelbin Mekkatorque
Aysa

Horde
Sylvanas
Baine
Liadrin
Eitrigg
Gallywix
Ji Firepaw
Rokhan
Nathanos

Jaina, Lor'themar, Matthias, Malfurion, Muradin, Saurfang, and Falstad are completely absent, despite being major lore figures, racial leaders, and confirmed to have roles to play in BFA. There was a theory floating around a while back that every character in the embassy is meant to, eventually, give an allied race recruitment quest. What I interpret the absence of so many important figures to mean is that the figures that are present are indeed specifically placed with great intent.

This means that every character there has a potential allied race already in mind.

Sylvanas would probably be all over that idea to.
Sylvanas: I'm sorry, I must have misheard you Gallywix, did you just say a group of Ocean Goblins and Undead are cooperating to fight the Old Gods and Azshara?
Gallywix: You heard me correctly Warchief, I don't Think I have to tell you how that benefits not just the Horde, Heck not even just me, but you and the Forsaken as well? So you in?
Sylvanas: Get it down as soon as possible.
Gallywix: Got it.

Seriously, she'd practically be foaming at the mouth at that prospect, Cause that's basically troops that work on Land AND can attack underwater. Not to mention more Undead for the Forsaken.
