Ah well, if he isn’t actually working on new gilgoblins that at least frees us up from that concern of them invalidating normal ones. If they were added, they could be more wild and even magical compared to the super intelligent salesmen and engineers.
Added a small section clearing up some misconceptions. I don’t get where this idea of gilgoblins being unable to survive out of water is coming from? Name one aquatic race that CAN’T survive out of water. A jinyu merchant has set up shop in zuldazar. Murlocs inhabit caves, even in places like the blasted lands. Gilgoblins themselves are seen hanging out on ledges some distance away from water.
Wowpedia is also claiming that they have no nostrils, despite them clearly having nostrils on both their models and in official artwork.
Wowpedia is often not the most reliable source of info. What it does is provide an interpretation of existing in game lore. Sometimes important facts are left out.

I wouldn’t be so sure yet. It is possible I mistook the location, but I could have sworn I saw this by Hobart Grapplehammer after that deep sea quest. It is also possible that he could do something to fix them despite not making that statement. This is because he has made inventions before that increase intelligence.
The bait for gilgoblins is gold, you’ll go broke trying to catch them all
Don’t try this on fel goblins buddy. Your ankles will be regretting it!
The part you’re referring to is sung like this: “I’ve got gadgets and gizmos aplenty. I’ve got whozits and whatzits galore!”
Yes. That part just made me smile. Sounds like something an intelligence buffed Gilgoblin female might say.
“You want a thingamabob? I’ve got twenty! But who cares? No big deal… I want more!”
This is where, I think that they could really creative with bioluminescence.
Sea creatures are so biodiverse; it would be really cool to incorporate the features of various species as customization
…Gilgoblins could have a Hammerhead land shark. Think about it for a second as a racial mount. How cool would that be?
Bonus if it is a mechanized hammer head. However if Gilgoblins have more of a magical affinity rather than being tinkers, I’d say it should look more natural.

Why are you posting here then if you think it is a waste of time?
Can you please stop trolling in the allied race threads?
Sure, we may not know what the next allied race is gonna be. But we can still enjoy speculating and sharing our ideas! Let people have their fun.
There’s a mecha shark in HOTS for a mount I would LOVE in WoW.
Also reminder guys, don’t let the thread be derailed by trolls, some are doing it in multiple threads now. I suggest ignoring and moving on.
Give me the fins! Give me the gills! Give me the Druid forms!

Gimmie Blizzard!
Yea. It is ridiculous. Occasionally you get that one jerk who has to ruin the fun for everyone. Course we don’t know what will be an AR. It is fun to speculate.
