Now that Maximum from Liquid has come out publicly and stated that obtaining Gilded crests is too hard for 95% of the playerbase and that it needs to change…maybe it will? Before you post “people need to get better” or “the highest level gear deserves the hardest content” just remember that he is the raid leader of the top world first guild and his opinion trumps yours.

If they want to keep mythic-track gear and max-ilevel crafted items rare, they could at least have 7s and 8s or 8s and 9s give 5/6 and 6/6 heroic-track vault slots, to provide an ilevel boost to help people push into 9-10s.
It’s definitely a weird change compared to DF where you could get both Heroic-track gear and the crests to upgrade it before pushing into the keys that rewarded Mythic-track vault slots.

I think the biggest problem that Devs had was just oversight on how difficult it was going to be.
An example is this:
There are no +10 keys in the game atm, and Ill explain why. Currently +9 keys have a modifier of 114% health/damage compared to 0. During Fort week trash has 20% health and does 20% damage, during tyrannical weeks the bosses have 20% health and do 15% damage. When you jump into a 10 (136% modifiers) and add both Fort/Tyrann to the same key you are not adding an affix, you are just increasing the key level by 1 to an 11. This is shown by 11 key modifiers being 159%.
This is just 1 example on laziness and oversight on how you go from a 9 key to an 11 in progression with no choice. Adding tyrannical/Fort to the same key at 10 is just laziness imo, and its destroying keys.

Gilded dropping from 7 or 8’s doesnt impact mythic track though. Just upgrading hero gear to 626 max instead of 636 mythic.

It wouldn’t really impact mythic track very much but it would turn those into crest farm keys for upgrading the mythic track items you did get from pushing higher.
Gilded crests should not be easier to get.
If you want the best gear, do the highest level content.

Theres a weekly cap though, and whats wrong with that? The people getting mythic raid gear are doing 9+ no problem.

There really wasn’t much wrong with how loot/crests worked in S4 of DF. If they went back to that there still wouldn’t be much wrong with it.

He also sees no issue in keeping m+ as loot pinata status.
No additional nerfs to silken court so people can just obtain loot (gilded crests) on heroic just because having easy access to gilded crests is important for some reason.

The problem is that +10 keys that drop myth loot in the vault are equivalent to PORTAL keys from DF. People need to understand that.

It has made my usual tens far more tedious from people trying to get loot from a difficulty they really shouldn’t be in.

And portal keys rewarded the best gear in DF S1 before this upgrade system took over.
Actually portal keys were several key levels above what rewarded the best loot in DF

Only if you never played in S1.
I think he means the max ilv you could get before spending crests and he is right but its a weird point to bring up.
I don’t foresee that stopping either. People are going to chase the best loot (often when they are undergeared). M+ is far more accessible than mythic raiding so that is where they are going to go for it.
If you trim access to that loot down to a single key level then that is where people are going to flood to attempt to be carried to that loot. If you open it up to another key level then you significantly reduce the people who shouldn’t be in 10s that are applying for them.
