Gifting just one month of gametime

Could have sworn that there was a 1 month game time option somewhere in this dumb launcher. unless it was permanently changed to 2 months cause a certain “multi-dollar company” cant pay its employees

Other than the conspiracy theory, this is accurate. The only outright purchase of game time is two months. The other direct purchases were eliminated. The only one-month options are a month bought with a token with gold, or a month-to-month subscription.

This limited my gift giving abilities and I am still not happy about it.

Not really? If you’ve got the gold, you can give it to that person and let them purchase a token off the AH and that token can be used for 30 days of game time. If you need the gold, you can feasibly buy a token from the shop, put it on the AH and then gift the gold from that sale to the person. Or there is the two-month option or a subscription you’re paying for. There are ways of working it. I’ll even link you up to Marisol’s handy dandy game time/subscription chart to show all the ways game time can be purchased. Though definitely go to the post via link - the chart doesn’t show well in preview.

This has been in effect since March of 2021. This is not a new issue at this point.

But it was easier and $5 cheaper to just buy a month’s of game time.

Ultimately, it was a business decision made in support of a business goal that Blizzard hasn’t cared to explain. Because of that, I’m pretty sure the inconvenience to a subset of customers was judged to be an acceptable impact.

If you want to suggest this decison be reversed or modified, post in General Discussion or use the in-game feature suggestion feedback tool.

you know if your account ran out of gamtime you can mail gold to the expired account and when you logon it will substract the gold from the mailbox to pay for a token. right? not many people know this but sure as hell it is handy lol

Last I heard paying for a token didn’t pull from the mail. Did this change?

It would seem it has changed:

Gold attached to mail in characters’ mailboxes will also contribute.

SAME, this is not a wise move blizzard; I wouldn’t leave any money on the table.

Please do not necro any threads older then 2 weeks since last reply.

If you want to gift gametime you can give them gold instead to buy a wow token, gold in mailbox counts and a token can be bought from the character select screen.

Should you have other feedback you may also create a thread at an appropriate non-support forum or leave it through the ingame suggestion box.

No one who makes the decisions will see your thoughts on this unless you create a post in the appropriate forum (General Discussion) or to use the in-game suggestion/feedback interface.

You can, actually, still give a friend a month’s game time. You can just give them the gold necessary to purchase a token. They can then buy a token off the AH and convert it into 30 days of game time.
