Gift of N'Zoth... What ever happened?

I remember a long time ago something was supposed to eventually happen if you kept the Gift of N’Zoth. I even have a message saved from a GM that vaguely suggested that something will happen in the future if you kept the gift.

But, here we are years later, I still have the gift and I’m not aware of anything ever happening as a result of keeping it. I mean, I know those who kepe the gift were able to hear lines of dialogue that others couldn’t, but there must be more…???

I fully intend to keep the gift as long as I can regardless if anything happens, but I’m still curious. Please satisfy my curiosity

Does anyone have knowledge and info regarding the Gift of N’Zoth?

I totally forgot about that. Not sure what will happen!

Was there something when we did all that time hopping, chasing Chromie and that infinite dragon, and briefly popped into the black empire?

I still have that eyeball latched to my head as well, but nothing came of it.

If I go back to BfA land, is shows up. I never did the Father Pike quest to remove it.

It’s funny, I knew they’d never do anything with it, but I’m stubborn.

I knew they’d never do anything with it because they offered a quest, rather quickly, to get rid of it.

Imagine, sometime later, “all you folks with eyeballs on your head get a mount/title/pet/something those rubes who removed it can’t get”. The forums would be aflame!

So yea, nothing is going to happen.

But the eye stays. C’est la œil.

I have kept my gift, I hope we get something in TWW or Midnight!

Actually, all my velves have the gift N’zoth so kindly gave us.

I seem to recall certain buildings (like inns or whatnot) had eyeballs only those who never cleared it could/would see.

It’s also “technically” still possible TWW or some future plan can still make use of it. Either way, it’ll almost certainly be something small…just like Sylvanas “loyalists” still are a part of the Horde and didn’t amount to any actual gameplay differences other than some fairly bland goodbye you got after she betrayed and ditched the rest of the world before going off to join and simp for her sugar daddy in WoW hell

Why must there be more?

nothing will happen

the old gods are dead and the champions killed them.

thats what xalatath is saying leading to war within. she is the harbinger of the void lords which we will defeat in midnight

Ugh

More cosmos ending bad guys… yawn

If they bring the old gods back, that would be interesting. Maybe remake C’thun since so few people actually saw him in vanilla

I just hope it’s a little more than “Go kill this bad guy because he wants to destroy everything.”

zovaal was actually the hero of shadowlands. we just didnt realize it till it was too late.

so effectively the last time we had cosmos ending plot was LEGION almost ten years ago.

so let us cosmic war wanters have something for once

Perhaps the people who made plans for what was supposed to happen no longer work for Blizzard.

There is an NPC in Timeless Isle that says there are many secrets there yet to be uncovered, (when clicked on) but with ownership changes and firings and such, I wonder if when a dev leaves, do they take the secrets they made with them… to become forgotten.

Accursed Keepsake, Haunted Memento, Butterfly Net… I thought something interesting would happen with those other then taking up 3 bank slots.

Zovaal was a throw away villain, retro fitted to established lore to make him appear important and threatening.

Nobody took him seriously. Including Blizzard lol

Only if it’s good

I think it’s going to be hard to make a cosmic threat appear significant unless it’s done like the burning legion. We saw the effects of the legion over the years. Even as far back as vanilla. We were on the ground over the years seeing the horrors of it, the scars on the world from their invasion attempts.

To try and cram all the build up into one expansion and attempt to make it have the weight of the legion is how we got shadowlands. Those big existential threats need time to breathe and develop. They can’t be retrofitted onto the story real quick

we’ve been getting hints with the transmogrifier dudes for years now about the void lord plotline.

and they will be trying to come in through the sunwell or something so i think itll be on home turf. but legion also started on home turf. i hope it goes to space again. into the void lords reality

I also still have the gift, and nothing has happened. It is what it is. I just keep it at this point because I’m loyal to the Old One more than I am much anything else. Other than the Horde, of course.

Was N’zoth taking over the strongest titan not a cosmos level threat?

the person i replied to was talking like old gods arent cosmic level threat

and i agree

No idea what will happen but I’m still holding the gift on a mage!

Well you can still understand Shat’yar if you have it anyway

I kept the Gift also on this toon. Finished up the quests on other toons but I decided I wanted to see if anything would happen …

Sure, unless you could do it on an alt
