I’ve seen them do worse.
Indeed it is.
Based on Wowpedia’s timeline, the boxes started appearing at midnight of October 23 and the cure was found at noon on October 27. That is 108 hours. In this release, they started on September 6th at say 9am server (I don’t have a good reference for exact start time). 108 hours later puts it at 9pm on Sept 10th, so the event should have ended last night.
We got at least an extra half-day out of it. I don’t really call that “early.”
Yep, we’ve been saying this for a day now, but ppl still complaining.
I was told I had no idea what I was talking about when I pointed out that it wasn’t ended early. Sigh.
I heard it was meant to last till 13th. Maybe I am wrong, if so then good! Good for Blizzard, not for me. But whatever.
If true then on me, but I kept hearing it went till tuesday, so yeah.

Phase 1 - Trouble in Booty Bay
- Conspicuous Crates have begun to show up in Booty Bay. These crates, covered in green-like smoke, are filled with deadly diseases that if a player stands too close will infect them. The only way to get rid of the debuff is by talking to any Argent Healers in capital cities or by having a class that can dispel them get rid of it.
-
Phase 2 - Roaches!
- The same Conspicuous Crates from before have kept showing up and it’s gotten worse, arriving in every capital city in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Filled with contaminated grain, rats, and other vermin have taken a liking to their contents and, have made the plague spread even further.
-
Phase 3 - Welcome to Zombie Town
- Thanks to the rapidly spreading plague, Plagued Residents have begun showing up across Azeroth, terrorizing low-level zones, and making it nearly impossible to traverse the world. They spare no player and even no NPC.
-
Phase 4 - Quests, Bosses… And More Zombies
- With the disease and plague running rampant, the Zombie Infestation has grown worse. In response, members of the Argent Dawn have sprung into action giving players quests and tasks to complete. To top it all off, the plagued vermin continue to wreak havoc in Azeroth’s major cities, the Scourge has begun to fly necropolises, and a completely new boss has arrived in Karazhan.
-
Phase 5 - The Darkest Hour
- The plague is reaching a point of near incurability, leading to the Argent Healers leaving their posts. Zombies have begun doing more damage, and the Plagued Vermin are taking down and infecting the cities’ guards. This, in turn, has forced Azeroth’s heroes to utilize Shattrath as a base of operations.
- This phase is expected to last one day.
-
Phase 6 - The Final Phase (Recovery)
- Apothecaries have managed to find a cure for the plague, putting an end to the zombie infestation. Plagued Vermin and other types are nowhere to be found; infection has been reduced to a minimum.
I mean… we never even got to phase 3. Just saying
Reality is… it’s over, and they prob arent going to change it… Lets post about something else! like server ques!
Blizz was dumb and should have just made flight master, AHs, other important npcs immune or “protected” so people didn’t lose their minds.
I think if they did that the event would have been fine and everyone could have enjoyed it more.
That being said, I thought it was fun.
ghouls probably refused to call people by their preferred pro nouns… LOL
Thanks for posting that by the way, great info.
Ghouls are probably trying to login but are stuck in queue
Okay, so yeah, there were no Argent Dawn quests that I saw – but I’m on Skyfury and just leveling up – were those in Outland or anything for the others?
Sounds like you’ve got bigger stuff to worry about than wow. Maybe get back to work instead of trolling the forums complaining? The game doesn’t bend itself to fit your time constraints.
Event was boring.
Should never have been on fresh.
Glad it’s over.
GG
I at least wanted to do the quests. It is disappointing that they never even put those in the game before ending this early.
If you don’t want the original WOTLK, then don’t freaking play it. FFS. You whinging carebears seriously ruin absolutely everything to suit /you/. Fecking leave well enough alone. If it’s not for you, it’s not for you.
In reality they should have known the event wasn’t going to work seeing as it didn’t the first time, and the servers were already a sh*t show before it started.
But blizzard has never been very good at planning. They’re always more of a wait for a reaction and then fix it later company.
They should have compromised with some kind of instanced event with a cool story.
There were. I managed to do one in SW (also on Skyfury) and picked up another but guess I won’t get to hand that in thanks to the crying wankstains.
