The ghost shape should go the rocks and trees as well, looks dumb to have to go around a rock to get to your body.

I like the way they fly in SL, would be nice for that to carry on, but as someone has already posted it appears ghosts ride a dragon in DF, so I’m cool with that too.

When the kid saw dead people in that movie, it wasnt real. 
so far every time Ive died Ive been a ghost on a flying mount. I doubt theres many places in DF where it wouldnt be necessary to have it that way given the expansion is designed for flight.
