That title is pretty misleading, GC never said that the forum critics are wrong, just that they stand out more than positive or passive views.
They are wrong in concluding that he was a “punching bag” of all the hate that never really existed. The false conclusion players are reaching now is “bfa is bad” because of some negative responses. Critics are wrong as a representation of the whole WoW community.
Well you see I left wow when ghost crawler was here… I left league and came back to WoW when he started to ruin League.
Just my experience with GC, I like BFA so far, can’t stand current state of league.
The people who hate the game- have been here for a decade claiming everything is the death of WoW (this time for real!).
The people who enjoy playing the game, are mostly in game playing it.
It always gets bad on xpac launch when people who expected the game to either change too much, not change at all, or revert back to what it was years ago all voice their displeasure. And again it gets bad before a new big patch since it generally means content’s been exhausted by most players.
While I see most news in the RL only about doom and gloom, I actually come to the forums to enjoy discussing this game and reading a lot of interesting posts.
None of us here get a vote if this were politics. We’re here on a privilege by Blizz. I get it. Most players just deal with the direction from Blizz and it’s an ugly silent world for anyone not in the inner circle of trust. What I mean is, you criticize you are persona non grata. You praise without question every move, then MVP glories unto thee.
The trolls just like to incite and feed sparks to start forest flame wars. Or dumpster fires or whatever.
I have my reasons for being here as do you. I wish more participated, but we all know that those who truly enjoy the game are so hopelessly addicted playing it like mindless slugs. That just leaves the rest of us on here, skeptics, shills vs. trolls vs. “whiners” but with independent thought processes.
As the saying goes, prove me wrong.
As the saying goes, burdens of proof are upon the claimant.
So you’re saying its only 20 people that are hating on the game and its totally fine and best expac ever? I guess these 8000 people are also wrong.

You guys are moronic if you think this expansion is anything but a quick release to meet blizzards stockholders expectations. Blizzard has changed, they don’t give a crap about fun anymore.
You forget the great majority of players who don’t even provide feedback, but just leave the game without saying anything. Blizzard is the only one that knows what is really going on.
88% upvotes which also means that 1130 people downvoted it. 8000 redditors, NOT WoW active subscribers/players. It could very well be 8000 vanilla WoW fanbois that quit after TBC for all we know. But even if it was 8000 subbed active upvotes, that still makes up only 0.2% of the entire playerbase. It would still fall under the category of vocal minority, which should not represent the entire WoW community.
I’ll never understand the hate that an expac gets mere months after release. Does BfA have problems? Sure. Is it the first of many patches and content releases? Yep. Is there still a year and a half of content to go? You betcha. Let it bloom, people. Have a little patience. Instant gratification isn’t all it’s cracked up to be anyway.
I was proving a point that “20” hate on game, but by your standard, then no change should ever happen because only 0.2% of people complain. You guys have some flawed logic
I don’t think so either. If they give us all a lot to do (which they’ve neglected to), I wouldn’t even bother with the forums. But losing an artifact that we not only grew similar like the necklace (not the depth though) but could change the appearance of is a major shift. There is not class hall replacement. In short, its just small in comparison without a lot of room to grow. That’s a problem as it means if I don’t have much to do now, I probably never will. And the Alliance not having its own plot to correspond to the Horde’s just makes it sting even more. I’m serious but where did all the developers go after Legion?
If they say to mobile gaming I may just scream…
Wow just… Are you actually being genuine right now? Are you trolling? Do you realize that it is possible for the people who upvoted it to be people who play the game too? And even if they’re unsubbed, does it not occur to you that they may be voting with their wallet?
Oh yeah well, according to my arbitrary definition of vocal minority you only need 0.1% of the playerbase to be the majority! So your arbitrary definition of vocal minority is wrong.
Stale old meme argument that doesn’t mean anything. I’ve heard this same phrase said so many times I question whether or not the people saying this are NPCs running a script. What does instant gratification have to do with any of this?
I wonder if Ghostcrawler still has nightmares about the bikini-clad Dragon aspects.
WoD called and would like you to repeat that for the ~6 million players that left.
Soooo if the vocal minority likes something then they too are wrong by that understanding yes?
Hate to break it to you, but the active subs the game has ARE the minority of the WoW community. In fact it is only a rather small fraction of the WoW community. The vast majority of the WoW community has decided the game is no longer worth $15 a month.
Now this^ was a horrible expansion. Holy WoD sucked.
I… Wow, yeah nevermind. You freaking succinctly nailed it man lol! Wow, that’s incredibly well said. Take my +1.
Yep, same here. And it’s actually really sad. A lot of us harsh BFA critics aren’t chicken little/tinfoil hats/doomsayers. BFA being in the extremely poor shape it’s in doesn’t make us happy, it’s exactly the opposite. Why would we be happy our guilds are only active on raid nights?
Why would we be happy we want to message our friends on discord, ask them if they wanna play wow, only we don’t because aside from m+ there’s nothing mid to high end to do, at all. AND everyone knows, some combination of affixes for a week are “one 10 and done” because it just stinks.
Can’t ask if they wanna do WQs together, our reps are done and how many 370 Azerite gear do you need?
IEs?! I only do them to cap on my main, and it’s boring and a drudge. My friends stopped doing them altogether with the terrible drop rates for pets/mounts, the drudgery of them, the same thing over and over again…
Alts? Hard pass, item level of necklace is gated behind a rep gate behind a time gate. That blows.
Farm old content for mog/mounts? Sure, but BFA can’t take the credit for that at all. That goes to whatever expac that content belonged to.
Professions? Pretty pointless unless you’re an herb/alchemist. Even then, not a social activity to farm herbs. You can technically do it together… But… That’s solo content.
Snorefronts? Do it once for the quest reward of random 370, don’t do it on alts because of, again, Azerite neck triple ilvl/rep/time gates. So gross. How about if we have revered with Champions of Azeroth on our mains, our alts get the ilvl boost from being revered but the neck still starts at level 1? That’d be better.
Even pet battles are a solo activity, unless you just wanna fight your friend over and over again…
So… I really don’t understand why WoW has been shifted into a single player game so hard… And there isn’t much to do at all at max level in BFA content…
We haven’t even gotten to the class design/BFA GCD/unfair & unfinished class tuning yet…
BFA is not good.
Really? most people that look at that Video are just random people that never even played the game and simple love the cinematics.saying they are all ex-wowplayers or current is a stretch.
