I love the lore of league, its rich and the world is interesting, It was a shame that in a moba we could see little of it. So imagine the pleasant surprise when ghostcrawler announced a new league mmo.
I sure hope It really turns out great, wow has been stagnated on the market for too long an in need of a little competition

There are like 3 major MMOs in production, so that is quite a bit of competition. Dozens on MMOs have come out in the past decade and every one has died except WoW. I think it’s less of a “WoW is stagnant” and more of a “The MMO genre is stagnant”.

I mean sure I welcome all new mmorpgs that come out… I just hope they are actually good that’s the part where so many of us are letdown time and time again.

I really like LoL’s setting so I’ll probably give it a shot.
Probably won’t be my WoW replacement, but I’m hoping to be presently surprised.
100% will be rolling a Yordle.

I mean, Riot is know for the quality in their games so i’m not too worried about this.
Also, knowing Riot the game will be free with a decently fair monetization system

I’ll give it a try like everything else, however considering of all the MMO’s I’ve tried the only two that keep dragging me back are SWTOR and WoW.

Ashes is overhyped semi-crowdfunded semi-indie pvp-focused junk IMO.
New World seems almost MMO-Adjacent rather than a proper MMORPG. Like it’s very obvious a team with no MMORPG experience is behind it. Even more PvP Focused.
Both are DOA (to me).

Yeah FFXIV and ESO survive because of much smaller yet intensely dedicated playerbases. It’s tough for new MMOs to develop that kind of base. I don’t think any new MMO has a chance of rising to the occasion, no matter how popular the original MOBA is. A League MMO still stands a chance, I guess? But I’m doubtful.

I would not call any upcoming MMOs “major”. But this is Ghostcrawler, the head GM of WoW during the golden age, and with the financial backing of Riot, I have high hopes for an actual competition for WoW now.
Even if you don’t like the setting of LoL, competition will keep Blizzard on its toes.

There is competition trust me and if WoW has nothing left for you. You have your fair share of choices. But it’s also been noted that most of the time when a player switches they usually just come back to WoW for one reason or another.
WoW just has something that players gravitate towards.
I know very little of League.
But a Riot MMO? It’d be interesting to see for sure.
Huh? WoW has at least one major competitor in FF14, with some minor competition in ESO and GW2, and maybe the star wars one.
