From what I’ve seen of twitch streamers- those Alliance death balls of 20-40 depending on the guild get two or three wins before the swarm comes in.
And here’s the problem with being outnumbered. That ‘death ball’ gets a win on an equal group of Horde, but there’s no other alliance nearby, so those horde easily spawn and escape.
Then those 40 alliance get owned as 2-3 groups of 40 Horde get the better of them, with more and more coming in cuz hey, this is the one group of alliance out there and everyone wants the action.
There’s no escape- there’s no rezzing up, buffing, gathering to try again. You rez, and there’s multiple organized groups sitting on you ensuring that can’t happen.
And I think that’s the most discouraging part of it for those that want to group- you lose one fight, and the night’s over, or at the bare minimum it can take half an hour to recover. Horde loses one fight and it means nothing to them.
Consider to that- like the Horde, most of these large raiding guilds are full of raiders. Some sure enjoy some pvp, probably would do more if it was balanced or in their favour- but aren’t motivated to go get camped for hours every day. When you have a major numbers advantage, pvp is an easy sell even to casual players and those not that into pvp because ‘kill lots of the other side, rarely die yourself’ is pretty easy to get into for anyone. Just guess how easy it is to sell ‘come get camped for hours, die a bunch and get chain killed when rezzing without any chance to recover, and maybe get a few kills off before the Horde call for double, triple, etc… the numbers to smash and camp us more’ to anyone but the most hardcore pvper.
If I’m tryin to get to a raid, I’m tryin to get to a raid. If the trek to the raid is annoying, oh well. Get it done, get to the raid. That’s the fun part.
I feel for folks still tryin to gather materials, quest in the open world/level. I imagine that sucks. But it’s literally been screamed at people since months before launch that when phase 2 happens it’s gonna be a dumpster fire of death and destruction.
This should not be a surprise. People had their heads in the sand about it and now that it’s happening they’re whining about it. I just have little sympathy for them. It’s not hard to have put 2 and 2 together and realized this was gonna happen and it was gonna suck.
Why would every opposing faction member on my server re roll PvE? I love how you ignore the fact that you are on one of the most balanced PvP servers outside of maybe grobbulus and Faerlina yet you’re still crying. If you were alliance on Stalagg or something I would understand.
Remember it will die down in a couple weeks, as well WSG early release in December.
But I think the real issue is server size, classic servers are 3-4 times more populated then server capacity in vanilla, so a lot more players just camping and more to deal with.
Explain how they get the people to summon in to position to summon.
Oh look, they have to ride into BRM.
Explain how there will be no Horde waiting near the instance entrance.
Damn, I was really hoping to get at least a couple months of these PvPers crying because they thought they did, but they didn’t. Oh, well. It was fun while it lasted.
Adapt and overcome! Learn to pvp.
Organize. Make friends, join a guild. LFG to pvp. If you solo, you will be rogue fodder. (unless you’re a frost mage) But you’ll still get ganked if you’re alone.
Learn to communicate with others of your faction. When you see a group of opposition, /1 to let others know, providing numbers, location, even names if it’s a small group.
Strategy: Level 60s might want to protect the flight points, quest hubs, and questing areas of the mid to upper level 50s players so that they can hit 60 and begin to play the real game. Escort the lowbies when you can. They’ll appreciate it.
If you’re playing Classic just as you did Retail …why are you here? IMO, Classic on a pvp server, no matter the faction balance will require players to actually work together in order to have fun and accomplish goals. I hope you have fun.
