Gettings stuck while loading character

i did reinstall and used the repair option, it is frustrating

I merged your two threads as there really isn’t a need for both. Just letting us know that you were having trouble with the second link and providing specifics that this seems to be with all characters would be the way to go.

If you are having trouble logging into any character as well have having trouble getting the ticket option that Perl linked earlier to load, it might not be with the game, but with your connection to us.

You might want to post in the Technical Support forum, the folks that post there tend to be a bit more tech savvy.

Curious, is the game crashing or is it sending you to the login menu daying you disconnected?

the music stops and the bar stops one inch from completion after i pick a toon

This is a wild guess, and you will get much better educated guesses in Tech Support, but: if it’s just stopping, that makes me wonder if you are low on disk space or RAM.

No. That would not be something recommended unless you have an old style hard drive. Most people have Solid State Drives now which you don’t defrag. You do look over your unused programs though and remove anything you don’t use if you are close to your disc capacity.

More likely though, seeing as you can’t reach the web link either, you have something security wise blocking your connection. I find that happens when I don’t see a pop up for a a security program and then something half loads, or an aspect does not work.

Maybe this was clarified above and I missed it, but…

Is this the game loading screen with the big blue bar near the bottom, or are you trying to load a character on the Character Select screen with a thin blue line in the middle?

If I could offer any advice, it would be to stop being vague and cryptic in your replies. It’s not exactly helpful and while I’ve spent many (probably 15+ years) posting here trying to help people, it’s difficult to help when the other person isn’t providing any detail.

ā€œit didn’t workā€ is a good example. What exactly didn’t work? I provided a link to unstick a specific character, which we learned wasn’t the issue. You can’t log into any?? You’ve yet to clarify if it’s every character too.

Did the ticket option for a stuck character not load? It didn’t submit? What specifically didn’t work?

All of this should probably be put into the Tech Support forum as mentioned several times, but I don’t see any posts in that forum from you.

Waiting a week for an unknown issue that only you are experiencing isn’t likely to fix the problem unfortunately :frowning:

Unfortunately, not by itself. If the issue is that there is something happening along the route you are taking to connect to our servers, it’s possible that issue is resolved by those providers during the week. Or the issue could persist because none of those providers are receiving complaints that help them pinpoint where is happening.

Moreso, I highly recommend posting in the Technical Support forum. They may have some suggestions to help troubleshoot the issue further and maybe figure out what is blocking you. If it is with your ISP, or along a backbone provider that your ISP might route you through, letting them know could allow them to get it cleared up.

You posted in Technical Support? I didn’t see any threads that were started in Tech. I saw a couple that were started in General Discussion and of course the two here.

I absolutely understand the frustration you are experiencing, we want you to be able to log in and play, but most or the time troubleshooting advice isn’t going to be found outside of the Tech forums.

The one thread you had was from 14 hours ago… which I understand may have had a DDOS that might have had an impact. Now that the DDOS has cleared up (crosses fingers), any issues you are experiencing should be a bit easier to troubleshoot.

You are welcome to bump this one (I cant log in past the camping screen, helptec) which I moved from General Discussion to Tech. Or create a new thread in Tech Support.

Outlining your issue and what you have tried so far could help figure out what other steps can be tried.

But also I read something really old, and I’m uncertain it’ll work now but it was for a similar issue so it’s a hail mary, but apparently these folk reset their interface and disabled all addons and it resolved the issue of them being unable to load in beyond the last stretch of the bar. Suppose it’s worth a shot if you haven’t tried.

A UI reset is actually the first recommended troubleshooting step for practically everything, even today. It doesn’t always help, but a good 90% of the time it does.

Could’ve sworn I had read that it had already been suggested in the first few responses, but I have been a bit loopy, today…
