It really does feel that way. If their attitude of “we are right and you have to deal with it” resulted in more people in the game and a better gameplay experience then it would be one thing. Instead they maintain their attitude while the number of customers dwindles after every decision.
Sticking to the right path is leadership. Sticking to the wrong path is hubris.

To be fair, i wouldn’t expect the average player to EVER earn 5 million gold. I think that is part of the point of the mount. It’s really there for people that will get that gold together and get the mount.
Blizz should drop the charade and just put it on the blizz store for $500. That would at least save people the time of buying and selling tokens to pay for it.
Unless they add another mount with the same functions & maybe more, for the same price or lower… this will continue to be another stain on Blizz’s name.
its just a consolation prize for playing what is essentially a doomed & dead faction in the game community.

It’s obvious they are trying to cash-grab to save face to their holders. This game is terrible right now, and this is yet another reason to shove even more players away.
Stop removing stuff for crying out loud. I’ve played this game since 2006 and even I’m thinking about throwing in the towel and finding something else finally. There is already BARELY anything to do in-game, and you’re killing all motivation to actually acquire cool items because god knows when they’ll be ripped away from you.

Cognitive dissonance would be thinking Alliance should be rewarded because Alliance refuse to do content.
I had to save and buy both the mammoth and yak in later expansions and had no reason to think I would not be able to do the same with this one. With all the PR missteps in recent years, this one was totally avoidable and capricious. I’m in complete agreement that we should have been told from the outset…
I’m waiting for the people who decide to say “heck with this, going to use my gold for something else”, Blizzard sees the backlash and the PR move to do another Blizzcon moment and stare at the camera and say “we are sorry, and will do better” (cough; Hearthstone/HongKong) then make the decision to leave it in game and suddenly all that gold you had saved up is suddenly gone and you are back to square one; so you climb on to your flying mount to start the gold grind again, assuming you finished pathfinder 1 and pathfinder 2 across enough toons (because rep wasn’t account wide at one time; because of blue posts such as the latest LongBoi “pie in the face”). My girlfriend who just stated playing WoW is still working on Pathfinders for BFA, can’t fly in Legion/WoD either because of the content gating and doesn’t even look at store mounts as she …ah forget about it.
You all get the point. Bean counters looking for ways to leverage in-game features for profit. They see the hemorrhaging subscription base and realized their First Aid is at 1/300.
Wasn’t it Wowhead that told us? Bliz just confirmed it. They knew that it was discontinued and didn’t announce it.
This is pretty sad.
I had no interest in this mount - but I feel very bad for those that were saving up for it.
It will cost more than you think to purchase it with real money.
As the token goes down in value (as it already is) you will have to buy more and more tokens to get 5 million gold. More and more money for Blizzard. Ugh. This is incredibly sleazy and slimy.
And I wonder how many that actually buy this mount with real money realize that the AH function looks to be going away as well.
“Greater issues” is subjective. Different people enjoy different aspects of the game. One of my RL friends plays wow, collecting is what they enjoy. Mounts, pets and unique items. It’s how they have fun in the game. So this is a big issue in their game enjoyment, which is why many of us play this game. Your anger on this issue is justified.
That is what they are doing. It use to be Blizzard made tons of money by making content 12 millions subscribers paid for. Now they make tons of money by making less content and doing more transaction sales. I can’t call this a micro transaction, it’s way to expensive for that.

I mean you guys get free wins in AV because the map and NPCs are rigged for Horde. Win some you lose some, but ya gotta just get over it, if you want the bee mount you can play Alliance. Just like Ion tells everyone how they can play Horde if they don’t like it.
I don’t think anyone should lose their job because they make some decisions customers don’t agree with. But at the very least, decisions like this should be followed with some kind of explanation when those customers ask for one.
Or just get out their Visa or Mastercard and buy the mount via tokens.
I think this thread, as well as the multiple similar ones are all about using the words Long Boi in a sentence.
