Getting owned in Ghostlands cool

people keep reporting the furbolg mobs in ashenvale as being “bugged” and “overtuned”.
…but they’re not.

they’re one of the very few lowbie mobs in the game who buff themselves.
you either need to stop them from buffing, or purge the buff.
fail to do either of those things, and you’re probably going to die.

people come across something other than the standard tank n spank mob, and don’t realize that they’re expected to use more than just the abilities which light up on their action bar.

Not always. some mobs in legacy content didn’t take several squishes well and are confused. and they hit like freight trains is the result. or the tank to wth levels your attacks.

best to avoid if found really.

There is a sprite normal mob somewhere in wod who may as well be a world boss. I found them level capped in BFA doing my pathfinder stuff at the time. The actual world bosses die faster.

One MoP raid unless fixed has a trash slime mod that one shots geared level caps too.

Actually, that sounds to me like those furbolgs are also bugged. I’ve leveled in Ashenvale many, many times, both before and after the Cata updates. There was never anything in Ashenvale that required you either prevent a buff or purge a buff or you die. Never.

Just because something can be worked around doesn’t mean it’s not bugged.

By chance are you referring to: ht*tps://www.wowhead.com/npc=68220/gastropod

If so, that is how the mob has always worked, always needed to be range killed

then you probably know how to play your characters, and took the appropriate actions to kill them.

gastropods?
that’s working as intended.
they touch you, they eat you.
you die.

they’re not bugged.

It is one thing to be ignorant of mechanics.
Another is that the mechanics, in this case a buff, may have some kind of bug.

There are several enemies in old zones that gain a buff of +X amount of spell power.
That buff is clearly bugged in several cases.

Enemies level 10-12 with +175 SP is ridiculous.

Something tells me you might be missing something about the quest. An item they give you to weaken the enemy or something to that extent.

That’s why its designed as group content all the excuses you listed above are solved by having more people in the party as intended.

Seems like a dev decided to teach new players about kicks at level 30 and made the mob do enough damage so people actually learn.

Is that the same dev that bugged the elementals in west sanctum in eversong woods to one shot you with moonfire?

here’s your chance to take on a REAL challenge and still overcome. Like the bamf you are!!

Yeah this should be fixed.

BFA scaling is wonky like Bucktick said and needs adjustments.

Well most likely not,

One is designing an encounter used to teach players to work as a group and organize kicks.

The other one is by the sounds of it is just a mob that 1 hits you from range?

One is designed to have some sort of counterplay one doesnt.

Or ya know, what has already been said?

The abilities are bugged and not scaling correctly.

Seriously, go troll another thread. Leave the new and returning players alone.

Why is it in GD then and not in the CS or TS forums?

As far as im concerned its working as intended, group content requiring a group to do it.

An ability thay punishes players for not doing it properly.

Seems fine.

it’s not a cs or ts issue.

Chain Lightning doesn’t hit for 20k at level 30. That is the ability. You know that right?

So its not bugged?

Chain lightning does 0 damage if you press an interupt button.

With 5 people in the party you have 4-5 interupts available which players can cycle through making this boss do 0 damage.

you can also pop cd’s and immunes to survive some casts if the kick failed…

The more everyone talks about it the more i think its intended and not actually a bug.

Design an encounter for a group to teach them about kicks and implement some sort of punishment (20k Chain lightnings) when they fail to do something as simple as interupting.

:wave:t3:yep you’re clueless.
