I do have to laugh a little if he casts chain lightning I couldn’t imagine the people that have tried to do this and all get smoked. Even if they did group together lol
Well if its bugged then its bugged, if chain lighting is an issue why can’t people get in a group with multiple interupts and just never let the cast go off?
People shouldnt expect to be able to solo group content when they are level appropriate.
Even IF it did hit 20k it was intended as the spell can be interupted and its designed for a group (more than 1 kick is available) so just kick the spell and be done with it?
Well, I’m honestly not surprised.
Eversong Woods has some NPCs whose damage is a total mess since 2020.
There are some elementals/ghosts, I think they are the Mana Stalker, that kill you in one hit with Moonfire.
I think the total damage is 2000 and at that level you have between 700-800HP depending on the class and spec (with Heirlooms).
There are several threads about that bug.
Normally it’s not a problem because we all kill enemies in one hit up to a certain level. But many times it can happen that they are left with 5-10 health and it is there, in that window of time, where they use Moonfire and kill you.
The problem is that the cemetery is so far away that you lose a good 5 minutes to get there.
Reading about a Chain Lightning doing 20k damage in Ghostlands doesn’t surprise me.
It’s actually more likely than you think. Thanks to Chromie time, leveling players get to choose their leveling content. Most experienced players tend to just pick certain expansions and / or spam dungeons to quickly level. Even if they decide to level classic zones, Belf and Draenei starting zones are dreadfully low in popularity. As for new players, they get thrown automatically into BFA.
Of the few people who do do Ghostlands, they are likely either doing it at max level for Loremaster and are one-shotting everything, or are at a low enough level that the wonky scaling favours the player and they can kill him before he gets a cast off.
Doesn’t change the fact that the ability is clearly bugged, and if he casts the spell fast enough that the interrupt is off cooldown, and if you happen to be playing a class that doesn’t yet have access to any other kind of CC, you’re SOL.
Like I said before, it sounds like something that can be worked around, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s bugged.
But… how many posts and reports from the game are needed to take care of that ?
I understand it’s an unimportant enemy from an initial zone of a rather old expansion, but the first post I found about the Moonfire bug is from 2020.
It’s been 3 years and the bug is still active.
