I’ve said it once, and I’ll keep saying it. If they wanted to slow down loot progression this much they shouldn’t have also removed bonus rolls.
And let’s be honest, we just need the badge system back, it’s that simple. If we had badges then it wouldn’t matter how bad our RNG has been the past week in M+ cause you’ll eventually just earn something for the slot you actually freakin want.
There’s ways to make us sit on the treadmill longer, but forcing us to do it for no reward isn’t the way, there needs to be a tangible way for people to see that their time isn’t being wasted for metrics.
Yeah I just did 6 runs
No upgrades
I’m exhausted
I can’t imagine how you feel
Might as well stop while I’m ahead
So tired of this, it’s not like pushing keys is easy either
Player A: “I have been playing a lot [lists content run] but I haven’t got any loot. This is very unrewarding. I’m starting to feel burned out.”
Player B: “Is not.”
Player C: “You are not.”
Player D: “I got really lucky, so you should be glad the system is working to make my gear feel meaningful.”
Player E: “The system is fantastically meaningful. I’m sure if I ever get a piece of gear it’ll be wonderful, and knowing this feels meaningful.”
Player F: “You don’t deserve gear.”
Player G: “You should have been playing a lot more.”
Player H: “All my alts have ilvls of 220 and have barely logged in. What’s wrong with you?”
Player I: “You should quit the game. And gimme your gold.”
And their way of getting everyone on board a Tuesday-Progression model.
Every single progression path, whether it’s PvP or PvE focused, is now waiting til Tuesday to get their “actual” upgrade.
It’s so unbelievably transparent. This is the final form of artificially lengthening progression. Sure, you COULD get lucky from the raid or M+, but most likely? 1 poorly optimized drop that you want to replace immediately, and a vault full of on-use trinkets that feel terrible to double stack and rings that you don’t need.
I feel Torghast is gonna start dropping 1 piece at end-of-run here shortly, scaling with layer difficulty level.
Honestly, I’d be perfectly fine with replacing all loot drops with some kind of currency you can use to buy equipment.
That way your always steadily moving towards a goal, every time you complete a mythic, you know your a little closer to getting something useful, not just some random dice roll on tuesday.
No one is asking for loot to fall from the sky like rain, they are just asking for steady progress. If you want to slow the progress a little, just cap the amount you can earn in a week. Its not rocket science, its a system that has worked well in the past.
Why Blizz can’t get it through their thick skulls that folks just want steady measurable progress. Not more random upon random upon random.
The problem with your argument is that character progression is a huge part of rpgs. So yea spending time working towards a goal in an rpg just to get nothing will sour someone’s mood.
Considering raid takes 5 hours, 2.5 hours a day, two days, I’m doing over 25+ hours solely M+, I’m not adding the time I do dailies, Torghast and WQs, I’m honestly prob playing about 8 hours a day…
I literally do not have anything else in me, I can say I literally am trying to get loot, I always get 3 options from Raid Vault, 3 options from Mythic+ 220,216,213…
You have no idea how much time I’m investing a week to try get loot…I’m literally pushing myself to the limit, but it’s purely rng, even bloody the MVPs are complaining saying bring bad luck protection in, because they not getting anything… and when Blizzards Golden Child’s say something other then defending them, something has to change.
I’d also call him lucky, he atleast got 2 drops in 2 weeks.
Looting this time around is pretty damn awful i have to say, after doing another 6 mythic this week and getting no loot, well, feels bad again and then when the vault or the damn weekly quest ends up giving you an item that you already have at 200, its kinda an insult.
