Getting generic Ticket response

My account got suspended for literally nothing. No, I am not exaggerating. I just got reported, then automatically suspended for no real violation of terms of service, in any way you look at it there’s no violation, even if you try to make it fit.

So anyways, I open a customer support ticket and get the same generic response,

Thank you for your follow-up contact. An additional review of the previously communicated action taken against the World of Warcraft account has been completed. Unfortunately, we have confirmed our initial findings. The account action will not be reversed or amended.

We base all of our actions on the severity of the violation, and take previous violations into consideration. This action has been taken in accordance with the Terms of Use: https://www.blizzard.com/legal

And our In-Game Policies which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to participation: https://battle.net/support/article/42673

Like, they haven’t even reviewed that, straight up ignoring the ticket and copy pasting the generic response and calling it a day.

I am pretty sure you cannot just suspend accounts for no reason left and right.

Well, yes, they can. Blizzard owns the accounts, and if they wanted to ban you for living in a certain city, or having a certain name, they can.

Now, it’s not in a company’s best interest to ban users for no reason. Just because they can doesn’t mean to do. But onto your issue…

There are no automatic suspensions. The only thing that is automated is if enough people (not just one) report for spam. That “squelches” the account until a GM can review it.

If you had an action applied to your account, plus it was upheld under review, then you did break the rules. Also note that an account action is rarely applied for something you were doing in that particular moment. Investigations take time, and it was something that was done (and reported) prior.

Not overturning an account action does not mean they ignored it. They just didn’t agree with you.

They are template responses, and every company uses them to ensure that every customer with a similar issue is told the same information.

Did you get an email from Blizzard?

You need to submit an appeal.

it is important to understand, Valeriie, that it just profanity that may be considered a violation. We are doing what we can to deal with a lot of the toxic behavior that has become prevalent in online games. That is primarily what you were hit for.

Yes, and that is by design. Our staff is unable to discuss the penalty with you, the appeal process is to have them review the original action and confirm if it was accurate or not. The response you received was a template that is used to keep our messaging consistent.

That wouldn’t really be productive if we did, Valeriie. We do try to avoid it as best as we can but we take the policies that we set forth seriously and ask that everyone abides by them.

While I understand you may not agree with the reasoning, it does look like the chat violations have been confirmed by a Game Master during your appeal.

I’m going to close this topic since it violates the Forum Code of Conduct. Specifically:

Discussing Disciplinary Actions

This category includes:

  • Creating posts or threads to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a player, including chat logs and email correspondence between a player and a Game Master (GM)
  • Creating posts or threads to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a character or account on the forums

We are not able to review appeals over the forums. This process can only be initiated through a support ticket.
