Is this a bug or intended? I have ‘censor messages’ set to ‘no one’ but it still filters messages from people I’ve been in a group with. Does the selection to NOT censor messages not do anything, why have it set to not filter anybody but then it does anyways?
Mixed signals galore
My intent in moving this to the Bug Report forum as that was in the best place for it, but there seems to be some confusion so I moved it back. You’ll need to create a new thread in the Bug Report forum to submit a bug report.
If you have “censor messages” set to “no one” and it is still censoring messages, that seems like it is a bug. If it isn’t specifically doing the thing that it says it should? Right?
So if, for example, you have someone on your friend’s list and you have “everyone except friends” marked in your social menu, and your friend sends you “harassing chat”, it shouldn’t be filtered/collapsed. You can always use the right click report option for that chat, but it wouldn’t be presented automatically.
If it still is filtered/collapsed it could be a UI issue, and you’ll want to make sure your settings are correct. You might have an addon interfering with the settings… or, it’s a bug and should be reported in the Bug Report forum so our QA team can look into it.

Well, if the setting indeed is supposed to fix the ‘only friends are uncensored’ part then it would indeed be a bug. I tested it with addons completely off, after a UI reset. I questioned because the most prevalent case of this occurring is after a PvP match where I was in a group with people, and it’s possible it’s an additional counter measure to prevent inappropriate messages after a battleground/solo shuffle match.
