My advice for anyone about to start on the cloak and Visions…
Download the album Ænima by Tool… this soundtrack pairs off with this content like Red wine pairs off with a Steak.
Now that you have the proper groove listen to my three suggestions.
Flasks, Food and Buffs.
Look at the map carefully and plot a course and expect to get turned around.
Use the orbs and use them wisely. Can’t use them in combat and don’t leave adds aggrieved.

Why stop there? Imo, unlimited max level alts. Start at 120, max profs, cloak, neck all essences unlocked at R3. Fully heroic bis with aotc achieves and raiderio score unlocked.
I think this is where Blizzard’s catering to metrics approach finally caught up with them.
We endured Nazjatar’s vertical mobmageddon for flying. We tolerated treasure chest and rare hunts on Gnome Island because we wanted to unlock the allied race.
We were just playing for the reward, though. We weren’t doing that content because it was fun.
But blizzard and its metrics…
Now they expect us to do the same busywork for no compelling reward, other than the privilege of not having our characters look like hot purple garbage anymore?

Lol what is this? Make essences account wide so people will actually play alts. Cloak isnt the problem
Feels like a desperate plea for players to log in yet its contents are the very reason people dont log in.
Remember, they called all this an experiment and a successful one at that. Dont be surprised when you see yet more of this in the future with these tone deaf devs.

Too time consuming to do or maintain on ALTs. If anything, 8.3 has funneled me to just concentrate on one. If that was the objective, congrats?
Not going to grind the same neck, essences and cloak repeatedly on each toon, life exists outside of wow.

I’m down to one character from three before 8.2 and many more in Legion. Doesn’t make me log in more. I just do what I want to do with this guy and then log out.
This is true - there are two threads on this. If people aren’t playing this game, it is going to be a really bad 8 months for blizzard.
Gear reward is trash. Why bother with leveling cloak. Dev’s screwed up copying diablo 3 rift run.
i still have “legendary” weapons from last expac i can’t get rid of in my bank, why bother taking up the room when we all just waiting for shadowlands and hoping it doesn’t shlt the bed as bad as bfa ended up doing.
Now, why do I need the legendary cloak when I have the power of the light and the void?
Dear god yes, I just cant stomach it any more I have two toons with the Cloak… but I just cant do a third…its not hard just boring and tedious…and god for bid if you heals…
i have done the quest for cloaks on like what so far, 6 or 7 toons, i don’t really play the rest of my 120s and i only really bother to do the dailies and runs on my main
people are more than willing to put in the work to be able to play other classes. when all you have is daily grind just to keep up with every class you have you do not enjoy the game or have time for the part of the game you find fun.
ie:i will level cap and get my pvp mage fine gear, but when i also have to do an hour a day worth of open mouthed questing for every class i might or might not want to play with just to be viable i’m going to get tired of playing this game all together.
this is a small example that others may feel more or less connected to, but i’ve yet to see someone who likes doing dailies.

Pretty much this. Did the quests to open up Uldum, and the vale, on a couple characters, and a few assaults but that’s about it. Not interested in doing a rehash legendary cloak from mop. I have a couple vesssels that I will never use either lol. Heck I’ve only logged into this game once in the last few weeks, and that was just to do a couple heroic warfronts on a few toons. They can take their corrupted bs, and stick it where the sun don’t shine lol. Oh well its not like I haven’t skipped any of their lame patches before over the years anyways, so not a big deal.
Why not just make every new character created automatically 120, while they’re at it. I mean, leveling is so pesky and tedious. I just want to create a character and be mythic raid ready!
Hey, at least look on the bright side. If corruption ever got nerfed completely to the point where all the items we grinded and rerolled and cleansed and mourned became the next bis from worst in slot, eventually at some point the damage done by corruption and survivalbility issues would outweigh the gear and we’d never had to wear 5-10k self dpsing gear for a 300-1k dps increase again. :P. But then all the mythic keys would go down too from the +50% despite only +30% stronger gear so ehh.
