I feel like I wasn’t surprised at all. Especially when they added paid level boosts to the game in tbc classic.
It came with the premium content, but it still was a level boost included. Sure it was only 1 boost. But still. 1 boost is still 1 boost to many. There should be zero level boosts available.
Heck. I knew a couple of friends with 4 accs open, just so they didn’t have to level the 4 classes they wanted during bc classic. It makes blizzard money, but yah. This whole token thing, is not surprising me at all.
Like with everything else, alot of people were paying for gold from 3rd parties. Alot of people were not even leveling up normally either. Usually paying real money for 3rd party gold, and then paying a mage to level up super quick.
The market has been there for a while, now blizzard is taking advantage of that and making money off of it to. You can pay blizzard for gold now, and then in turn, pay other people for leveling or achievements or other things. And buy the premium content for a max level character boost.
You are an absolute disgrace of a company.

I feel like RDF also doesn’t make money to blizz to add it. Adding the wow token does give blizzard money.
My buddies and I all stopped raiding in Ulduar and intended to return for TOC just to catchup for ICC (We’ve all done years of ICC raiding on PServers, love that raid)
But naw, no reason to play this over Warmane again now

If they surprised us overnight with this, then they may just surprise us with RDF for ICC launch.
The token has made me optimistic and relieved some of the anger I had over no RDF.

I dunno. I guess I am just so oldschool. Heck, I am still leveling up my toons. Wrath is life for me. I level so slowly, but I keep sucked into the game that way. People level so fast now. And I never bought level boosts. And I refuse to buy wow tokens to.
Not going to quit over this change though. I will still be leveling at my own pace, and will eventually get there.
I will be frustrated if wrath classic gets deleted once cataclysm classic comes out though. I am hoping we at least get permanent wrath classic servers to. I only really have interest in playing cataclysm classic on a goblin mage. All I want to really do there.
Are you saying you don’t engage with the end game of Classic Wrath? If that’s the case, that isn’t overly common and wouldn’t be a person affected by this.
Technically, you don’t fail at something you never tried to do.

I dabble in end game a bit. But everyone seems so trigger happy to get there in 10 seconds.
But I am not super hardcore for end game either. I certainly am not going to pay my way through it with wow tokens either lol. That is insanity.
The most activity Wotlk has had in months is this negative publicity. Wow

thats the real tradgedy, i was all ready to bail this vile, sewage leaking sinking ship once ICC got boring, but they’re ruining the game entirely, 6+ months early, what a disgrace of a company.
At the very least they could have allowed us to cash in tokens for blizzard bot-bucks so i could get D4 without paying for it directly lmao.

I definitely see this as a marketing strat at the end of the day. I can tottaly see blizzard keeping a permanent wrath of the lich king server option once classic cataclysm comes out, especially since the wrath of the lich king wow tokens are in the game, which will allow them to keep monotizing and making money off of wrath classic long after classic cataclysm comes out, especially since wrath of the lich king was a really popular experience over all, both back in the day, and now.
But I dunno. That is my 2 cents.

I can’t just see them completely shutting down wrath classic servers though, when they could still milk players on permanent wrath of the lich king classic server wow tokens still.
Because I guarantee alot of people would stay back and thrive on those servers.
Alot of people didn’t want classic cataclysm, and don’t want to move forward. But yah. I mean, I could be wrong to. But from a business perspective, it doesn’t make any sense to just cancel the wrath classic wow tokens entirely. They could make way more money keeping a permanent wrath classic server option up, combined with a cataclysm classic server option along side it. Although, I am not sure if they would make permanent cataclysm classic server options once pandaria classic comes out. Don’t know what the demand would be. But loads of people liked wrath of the lich king.
So yea, about Classic+, can we NOT get a WoW token in that?
But where the heck is permanent burning crusade classic servers while we are at it lol. Alot of people wanted that but didn’t get it. They might as well monotize all 3 versions at that point with wow tokens, and then later with cataclysm classic to.

In all honesty, this is the staff of blizzard being wrong again, first it was “You think you do, but you don’t.” now it’s “We think you do! But you don’t! and we don’t give a crap about your opinions!”
