The whole auction house is just an façade for the token.
The illegal websites started to raise their conversion prices, somehow the token also was competively pricing itself against them… Not really how a market reacts but a competitor.
Someone could make a textbook example of competitors in a market by using the Token and those websites. How is a “free market” pricing out a black market?

Now that I think about it Bonerover, they have to print that gold, if they are not selling, otherwise its a massive rip off in Real Money transactions.

My server tokens dropped from 11k gold to 7k gold this morning.
So I’m sure that is happening to people right now.
It would be interesting if a token auction expired. I haven’t seen one yet even in retail.
I want to know who is the lead economist that monitors the in Game AH, CCP legitimately has someone doing this. That is why they are able to make it work with Eve Online, its like they got some intern playing George Soros, without understanding inflation in WoW.

They have all the incentive… Just to make sure you understand this is fake gold, not real gold. If I can make a digital currency with no cost behind it and sell if for real currency at a pure profit, there is a ton of incentive to do it.

Ya I am not gonna quit until my guild does I am in this for them until the end of Wrath. I have had a good time with them this past year. This is the environment we live in and unfortunately not much you can do about it.
Gonna make the best of it for now. But it does solidify my desire to not continue once the goal our guild set out to do is complete. ICC can not come fast enough.

Laws need to be passed about “digital items” in games. It is extremely predatory.

11.5k Gold yesterday, 7.5k Gold today that is deception.

For a casual player 4k gold is hours of farming the service and product promised to someone who purchased said token last night and decided to sell today has been deceived.

Token + GDKP = Pay to Win (now officially endorsed by the developer, who failed to fix RMT cheats and bots).
I never thought they’d sink this low. I never thought they’d abandon one of the core principles of Classic itself.
