I’d rather have armor that has an aspect focused on what class it’s gonna be for.
Have you seen the armor sets for Shadowlands? It’s very eh and homogenized for mostly every type of armor class instead of player class.
I get that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but it’s getting to the point where I’d rather have more sets focused on what I play as rather than what the theme of the place is.
Thankfully, a return to class sets has been confirmed.
I hope the sets are better than the Gnome racial… yeesh more Gnome hate.
Indeed. A mix of the 2 usually works too.

Not sure why they had so much trouble making decent looking mail tier sets and pretty much all of the BFA raid sets are dreadful in general but there are still good Mail sets out there if you look for them.

I can’t post pictures, but this reminded me of a D&D/RPG meme about bards.
That’s a nice villain you’ve got there. Would be a shame if someone seduced them.

Tell that to Legion lore, tracking beasts, rushing through the hunting grounds, etc.
Hunters are supposed to be just that, hunters, not the archers from an army.

My shaman would jump for joy. There’s at least 50% more appearances that look like something a shaman would wear in leather than there are in mail appearances. Same for my hunter, actually.
Back when mail wearing was a trained skill my shaman and hunter alts would actually dread level 40 because it meant they had to start looking lame and decidedly un-shamany and un-huntery.

And give it a tanking class that uses mail.

OR… Leave it just the way it is. That’s my vote.
Legion lore had us going toe to toe with demons and their beasts. We lured them out with bait and then attacked.
Indeed! I’d love a tanking spec inspired by the Black Dragonflight.

I just feel like Leather just aesthetically suits the class better with all the spiked, green, spiked green, and plant/animal camouflage stuff it has going on…
At one point, both Paladins and Warriors wore mail before they got plate. While the 2 Mail users wore leather before level 40. (if you were one of those people who didn’t know that’s how it was before Cata)
I do think they should add at least another mail class in the equation before considering to remove the armor category. The big issue there is hardly any class idea that pops out that would use mail over cloth, leather and plate in the Warcraft Lore.

Yes, next new class should be mail.
I think there’s some decent looking mail armor if you look. Legion and WoD didn’t do horrible!
I would just like to not have to rely on other hunters and shamans to get gear (if they don’t need it). Whereas leather has DH, Druid, Monk, Rogue. Plate has DKs, Warrior, and Paladins…
Indeed. It used to be a benefit to have less competition. But now…
