The problem with locks have never been damage. Its the ability to get the dmg off and zero dmg avoidance only mitigation.
I mean since they gave warlocks teleport back in w/e expansion it was they have also had amazing mobility which is damage avoidance. Which is something they brought back to warlocks in shadowlands and also gave them stupidly tanky options through certain talents.

Doesn’t matter melee have excessive gap closers now. A warrior has 100% uptime on a lock if they don’t troll.
Port → Charge
Gate → Leap
Cant CoE since every war plays with sham or druid
Fake pummel? Bolt/reflect/fear
Dark pact? Shatter
Wall? Still taking dmg
Its cringe
And this is only the warrior. You also have a ret/ww/dk/enh sham to deal with
