Get ready for the gank-fest come pre-patch

Something no one is talking about is that with Blood Elves and Dranaei available during a pre-patch, there is going to be many highly geared bored level 60s with nothing better to do than camp entire contested low level zones for leveling. So if you are someone who wants to just experience the actual leveling process and not boost in dungeons, you are in for a real grind.

Honestly, people will probably be ganking in zones all the way up until you can fight for yourself.

This is in turn going to make people turn even more to boosting and say “the heck with it”.

This wasn’t a problem with TBC launch because all the 60s were in Outlands working on leveling.

I know this may not be a big deal to the community but I haven’t really seen anyone mention how big of a sh*t-show leveling will be for people who can’t just run dungeons or pay for boosts for their new BE or Dranaei characters.

Yeah there’s basically no point to even leveling a Belf or Draenei. They might as well just allow boosts for these races too.

This seems like one of those minimal sympathy posts for choosing to roll on a PvP server.

Pvp happened on a pvp server or something.

I play on a pve server so no ganking here. It seems like people who roll on pvp servers complain about pvp a lot!

What is it in my post that was me complaining? Honestly, I don’t play alts and don’t plan on leveling a BE.

I was making an observation to open for discussion. These forums are about as toxic as the game right now. Anyone trying to start a conversation about some negative impact of the game are instantly labeled as complaining.

But really though if someone doesn’t want to deal with this don’t roll on pvp servers. If you choose to then deal with ganking. It’s basically why I don’t play on pvp servers even though I do see the appeal sometimes, but I’d rather be able to quest and farm in the world in peace. I can jump into a bg if I want pvp.

Also what would even be a solution to this supposed problem? Disable ganking? Basically deal with it!

As someone who played an alliance character in P2 on a PvP server… this will be a cake walk.

I was going to say “pvp on pvp server” but this is honestly a fair point.

If Blizzard is going to drastically Change the amount of bored opposing faction 60s that are eager to grief while new races level, then Blizzard should counter-balance this by changing how many guards/npcs are patrolling, in the least.

I hope they do make the leveling zones unplayable. Those races are a blight on WoW and should be destroyed on sight like any other infection.

I know I’ll be out there on my druid or rogue killing every crack elf I see until they log out, or /beg

Ummm. I think people maybe getting this wrong. Early BE/Draenei launch and level will take place on the TBC server. Clean economy. All our level 60’s will be on WoWClassic servers awaiting xfer to TBC classic servers when it goes live.

That’d be awesome, and I’m also not positive, but I think the TBC server is the same as the Classic server - for instance I’m on Westfall, and they aren’t making a 2nd Westfall for TBC it’s going to be the same exact Westfall server progressing to TBC, and only the Forever-Classic servers will be different servers, afaik.

Wish we got more than one Q&A every 2 years to clarify some of this.

You got is backwards. All our 60s will be there. The prepatch is going on the current realm where are 60s are, and even if that wasn’t the case. The prepatch is when the transfers occur so they 60s would be there regardless of the situation.

EDIT: As for the Forever Classic. It would just be Classic-Westfall and Westfall
EDIT2: Correct me if I am wrong, but are the first two areas of every race safe areas for lowbies… as in you can’t gank them unless they attack you first. So Eversong/Ghostwoods and Azuremyst/Bloodmyst would be complete safe.

To both of you Kurogano and Transmutealt I see now having watched the deep dive again that our current servers will be progression servers. sweet. so all my hording has not been in vain.

I highly doubt it will be that bad. When people don’t get anything out of something they get bored of it quickly. Killing greys is boring and serves no real purpose. Some people like it but most don’t. IMO the only reason to do it is to make them get on their main or start a zone war. I can’t image the ganking being much worse than it is already on PVP servers when leveling right now.

I’m big into World PVP but I like fighting people a similar level to me. I’d be more about fighting 60s doing pre-patch stuff.

Isn’t Azuremyst Isle, Bloodmyst Isle, Eversong Woods and Ghostlands considered to be “safe zones” for their respective Factions? Just like Mulgore, Tirisfal Glades, Durator, Elwynn Forest, Teldrassil, Dun Morogh, the Barrens, etc., are? Also, this would only be a “problem” for those on PvP Servers. PvE Server Players MIGHT endure NPC Ganking, but these leveling zones are so VERY out of the way :woman_shrugging:

Man I wish I could gank you.

Roll Horde on Grobbulus and you can. Nobody is stopping you

Wrong. They are making new classic era servers where all the current realms can funnel into. This will create High population servers of the classic version of the game.

Wrong, As per qna each server is being split off into the Tbc progression and the classic era server, your names are being reserved on both and you can choose which one to play on or pay to play on both. I am interested to see what the future holds for them dealing with the low populations on classic era servers. Probably will end up being server connections.

as for the OP topic, yup, that’s why i rerolled PvE, it was fun for classic with the much more open world, but I am not doing Hellfire again on PvP lol.
