This video came out Dec 16, 2009. Memories of how things were back then. I don’t think LFD was really all that bad. It certainly made getting into groups a lot easier, and made tanks and healers very rich.
But we’ll be soon entering “Wrath of the Loot King” phase as Game Informer said it. Epic gear will really drop like candy. So we must be careful that we don’t get overindulged and complacent!

My guy, we went from heroics offering 1 epic per run to literally all drops in heroics being epics in classic already.

The worst part of it is when it’s going to “reset” when Cata launches. Then all of a sudden, all that nice gear won’t hold up so well.
My guy, Shadowmourne is replaced by a level 81 crafted sword, this isn’t news lmao.

It’s not supposed to be news. More like a history presentation lol. Let’s hope we won’t have people “bombing” random dungeons. Hopefully Blizzard will have the gearscore/ilvl wall built when ICC goes live.
There was already an ilvl requirement for ToC5 and ICC5 when RDF originally launched so they’d have to willingly and purposefully screw it up.

I think I remember that, but this would be for ALL heroic versions of dungeons, including the new Pit of Saron, Forge of Souls, and Halls of Reflection. Gotta live it up while we still can.

I never understood peoples concerns over epics dropping like candy as you put it, who cares about the colour of the gear? It’s the ilvl that matters, and the highest ilvl will still always come from raids. If you’re a heroic raider you’ll have the best gear, simple as.

Cata had only 5 levels.
Not much wiggle room. Gear dropped quickly while leveling that was designed to be of better quality than just the level previously.

There is a built in ilvl requirement for ALL heroic dungeons, it’s like 200 or a little higher for base game heroics, and goes up from there
In vanilla thru Wrath, the color of the gear affects the item budget. A 200 blue is weaker than a 200 epic, even though they both have the same item level.
So for here at least the item quality does matter.

I’d rather get gear upgrades while leveling than keep my full set till max level like we did from tbc to wrath.

Believe me, it didn’t affect the RDF experience at all, what would worry us now for the next classic expansion experience is the LFR system for raids, THAT WAS THE WORST THING Blizzard did.

“Francis” videos are nothing more than fake rage click bait. The dude doing those doesn’t even have the stance or opinion that is being touted in them.
Comedy is telling the truth, though. Boogie2988 was actually dropping some truth bombs about how 3.3 played out. When it first came out, people who don’t know the first thing about group play derailed the experience. Things like people coming into roics with greens on and a Hunter who constantly kept Misdirecting Francis instead of the tank.
No doubt these things have happened. And that’s only the beginning of the horrors of pugging and random groups.
