Well, I was getting really excited Shalyria with your suggestion, as that seemed to make perfect logical sense. But didn’t work. I can create a new layout, only moved a bar, clicked save, it asked me for a name and if I wanted to save for individual I answered yes, showed immediately the change, but as soon as I log out and come back, goes back to the default. I don’t really want to go back to add-on’s but I hope blizzard can offer a fix so I can play the game, cant setup my keys / buttons right, and I am old guy needing all the help I can get, and the new UI seemed to have good answers for noise factor I was experiencing with my add-ons.
And boy would I love the option for the map to rotate instead of it not. I also think we should have the ability to revert back to original UI pre-release
I can’t think of any other possibilities at the moment, unfortunately. Wish I could help more.
It may be worthwhile to ask about your issue in this thread. Someone may have experienced a problem similar to yours and found a solution for it, already:
Well it is fixed now, not sure if it was the quick update that was done when I signed in this evening, but now can move, safe, and create different profiles. Thanks Shalyria, appreciate your help.
I’d like the option to revert to the old UI. I play WOW as a role player and for nostalgia. Will move to classic WOW if the option to use the old UI isn’t implement.
To bad the old ui isn’t supported anymore on modern World of Warcraft once the New HUD UI kicked in the old stuff all aphid to go blizzard isn’t going to support two separate UI for “Option”
You’re welcome, sir. I’m glad you were able to solve the issue.
Sorry to break it to you, but all the textures are still there … and all of the API calls are still stere. Albeit, great deal of them has been namespaced and some extended to support additional functionality, which in some cases involves syntax change (which is what breaks the community created addons), but all we had few days ago is in fact still there.
Matter of fact, there are already people working on creating a community created addon to utilise all those API calls, combine them with the old-timey textures, and provide the community with an addon that allows them to use the OG UI.
TLDR;
Everything there was in the old UI is still there.
The Garrison/Pocopoc buttons can be moved, don’t recall what the element is called but they can indeed be moved.
ETA: I believe it is the option labeled “Extra Abilties”.
I like it, and it’s not a bad start at all, but I’d love to be able to customize the microscopic menu and bag bars in the bottom right section of my screen. Please and thank you.
I like it but there are some issues.
Mail/Calendar Minimap indicators are ridiculously small and hard to see/click.
The In-Queue Dragon Eye was better on the minimap with the other indicators.
The EXP/Reputation bar is not movable or resizable. You should have the option to lock it to action bar 1.
The Minibar/Bags/Minimap are not resizable.
You can’t flip the Character/Enemy Panes nor can you flip the party/raid/arena/boss frames.
You can’t increase the size of the cast bar, nor does it match up with the enemy cast bars position when locked to the character pane.
You can’t lock Buffs/Debuffs to the Character Pane.
The Chat Frame was already Customizable and did not need to be added to edit mode at all. It was better when you could change it on the fly.
The Shift+M Zone Map is still buggy when using teleporters.
I hear ya !
As nice as the changes are, still can’t get the same look as I get with Elvui, so going to stick with it. On the point of updates to make things better for players, was excited to see the all in one bag thing, but still can’t bring myself to replace bagnon simply because I can see all my characters gold amounts and check their inventories without having to hop around constantly.
NO truer words were spoken that there should of been a opt in or out of new UI…
anyone got updates on addons to get the old UI back yet? I haven’t played my favorite game in 4 days and it’s sucky
The contrast between the post touting “accessibility” and then showing how completely byzantine the UI interface is, is just really too much.
What average computer user looks at that UI picture from Blizzard’s post with 15 bars, maps and grids all over the place and thinks, “Wow that’s so accessible!”
It might be ironic Microsoft is buying them. Having 50 customizable widgets layered on a grid is how Microsoft defines accessibility. Apple studies the habits of millions of users and just goes with the most popular, simplest layout and hides the customizability of those widgets from all but power users. I tend to think Apple knows consumers better.
you know how role players have an RP addon make an official one so that isnt needed. role players will know.
It is there but currently disabled.
And snap to grid doesn’t work for me… so that’s a thing.
Same here everyday I log on make adjustments and name and save them log out log back in and they go right back to the way they were it’s like snapping my self with a rubber band over and over and over again. So should We delete all our add-ons totally?..Idk I have run out of ideas
